A) Nerves of steel (Either you trust KP will make a good move, or you're comfortable not making one)

B) Crapping your pants (Time is running out!!! Are you clicking the refresh button every minute?)

C) Anxious, but not falling apart

Which category are you in this morning? I'm definately in the "B". I don't like our chances of getting a FA this summer, and I'm not convinced the current roster makes the playoffs. It's not playoff or bust for me - it's not worth mortgaging our future, but something has GOT to be out there that we'd like, right?

3.5 hours to go . . .

A +C. More excited than anything. I got 4 hours of sleep last night some im running on coffee at the moment.

"B".

As the deadline has approached, the reported asking price for the RLEC seems to be getting higher... which raises the stakes in terms of a GREAT deal happening, or NO deal happening.

*gulp*

Exactly. It could get to paralysis by analysis as we approach 12:00. If we are so innundated with offers that we can't pull the trigger . . .

I'd like to say "A", but unfortunately my actions mean "B". I even woke up at 3:30 from a trade dream, crawled out of bed, and checked the board for an update. :sigh:

Anyhow, I'm going to the gym for an hour or so because I'm addicted to the refresh button. Cold turkey is the only way out for me right now.

C...I was going to try to be asleep right now but one of the guys woke me up an hour and a half ago. Now I can't go back to sleep because I don't want to miss anything.

I'm not expecting a trade, but at least the anticipation of yesterday was exciting.

A chick called at 1:21 AM last night, awaking me from what had been a (surprisingly) deep slumber.

I couldn't get back to sleep for a while... and it had nothing to do with the fact that a chick was calling me at 1:21 AM!

My wife gave me the "where did you go" mumble as I returned to bed. "Took a leak, hun". Yeah right.

im at C...i really want a trade so i am not gonna get excited until we do one, so i save some disappointment

A and B. I trust KP, even if they do nothing. However, I'm still hitting refresh every few seconds.

Every 10 minutes there's a new wrinkle with draft picks, or Sessions, or Batum . . . being discussed.

You poor thing! Maybe you should go on the Oprah Show and share all your emotional turmoil with the women. Be sure to bring Kleenex!

I need a 'D' added to the list: Having a Seven Flags Moment...Holding on tight and enjoying the ride.

I have locked my kids and wife in the basement AGAIN............(usually happens on draft day also) and am sitting in a pile of my own waste eating pop tarts! (brown sugar).

Okay, so in relation to everybody else you get a "C" (anxious, but not falling apart)

I made a small voodoo shrine and lit a candle for Gerald Wallace before work this morning. Other than that (and feeling frustrated that my girl isn't nearly as interested in talking trade scenarios as I am) I'm doing fine!

Got about a two hour nap.

Functioning on mostly sugar and caffeine.

I think I have reached "E"....sad resignation.

Or, as an old co-worker used to say: "I'm busted, disgusted, and not to be trusted. It could only be worse if my peter was rusted!"

Wow, there are a lot of people freaking out. I'm surprised.

I'm a little nervous at this point. If we don't make a trade I'll be disappointed but I doubt I'll be angry.

E. Too many topics to read and I'm getting a headache trying to keep up.

A:

Interested in what might happen. Checking often. Not worried if we don't make a deal.

Why?

No matter who we bring in, we aren't winning a title this season. I don't mind if the Blazers take a gamble and try to push their luck at the trade deadline. They still have options this summer.

I am cool with rolling the dice right now trying to get an extra good deal. Because if they come up snake eyes, we aren't busted. Still have some cap space this summer, still have Outlaw, Sergio, Bayless, Batum, Rudy, Joel, Blake, TE, Picks and Allen's pocketbook to work with.

Let us say the best options this summer rate up to a 7 on the impact scale.

Let us say the deals the Blazers could make now rate a 6. The Blazers are trying to squeeze out an 8. They are gambling a 6 in the bag, to try to extract an 8. If they lose, they can try for a 6 or 7 this summer.

I am cool with that strategy.

Let's be real here - it is not like we are grinding on a deal for Deron Williams or something. This is an old, but still good Carter, a not really that good anymore Jefferson, and a brittle Gerald Wallace. Thus, ok to play chicken with them.
