Mike Dunleavy is possibly looking at a career-threatening surgery to remove a "giant bone spur" that is so large that doctors could not initially find a previous surgery that was comparable. Assuming he has the surgery, he is looking at a long and painful recovery. He has two seasons and $20.4 million left on his deal. If doctors deem him unfit to play again in the NBA, the Pacers may be able to remove that figure from their cap, as the Trail Blazers had planned to do with Darius Miles' contract prior to his return.

I've heard really freaky things like his knee is literally fusing itself. I know he didn't spend his whole life here, but I still think of him as one of our own. I hope things work out for him.
