During the broadcast, Rice mentioned that Jason Quick is leaving the Oregonian to join Comcast. Sounds like he's taken on the role vacated by Jabari. He'll be doing articles, interviews etc. I've always really liked Jason's commentary. Don't always agree with him, but still like to hear his take. I think it'll be a nice change.

What's up with all the Jason hate? I never got it. He's not inept or a schmuck.

Well, if you go back, there was a time he became extremely jaded, interjecting his personal negative feelings into every story and incessantly manufacturing drama. Was brutal there for a while.

Huge upgrade.

Jabari did nothing different or write anything different that you couldn't find on S2.

Maybe Quick will go back to his breaking news ways -- early 2000s Quick.

Please God no. I don't want quick fabricating stories again

He was Damon Stoudamire's personal PR guy back in the JailBlazers era. If Damon wasn't happy, Quick would do a hit piece on the Blazers.

I literally only read articles that are posted here, but I've always thought Quick was fine. No where near as bad as Canzano.

I'm glad because I don't got to cssnw often and I really don't care for Quick. Too many times he either created the story or made it about him, rather than reporting real information. Don't care for his ego either. Glad he is gone.

I shall now call it quickcast because I cast their inferior product quickly out of my home

Doesn't this mean one and done for Quick...this is a one way ticket out of Portland from what I've seen

For me it dates back to the $amon - Sheed period. He was supposed to be a reporter, but he acted like a 'journalist'. Every article dripped with melodrama and bias. He was one of the main drivers of the intense player scrutiny and anti-Blazers crusade of the time. He is seemingly incapable of not making the story about him. Everything he writes reads like a novella for pre-teen girls. Yep, he's still on my shit list.

I'm guessing it's just the opposite. Comcast is probably tired of replacing this position. And they might have like quick because he is likely to stay for a period of time.

I think it's a smart move by quick too. Gets him fully back into the thick of things ans he gets more visibility on tv

To a god-forsaken city, it seems. First Haynes to Cleveland, then Young (back) to San Antonio.

Quick to OKC? (Please, please, please...)

Quick and Jaynes both on CSN... brutal! Another reason to not watch anything besides the actual live Blazers games on CSN. CSN might as well hire Crapzano so they can have the complete trio of local media douche bags.

You and the few who LIKED this post have never met him have you?

Quick was on courtside tonight, and Barrett brought up how 30% of the offense flowed through LA, and Rice said "as it should have", then in the next breath, he goes on to say how the Kings are better without Cousins because Cousins is a black hole.

But they shot the same low percentage from the field, and Cousins gets twice as many assists. So what's up with the LA love? I don't get it.

Also, LA actually puts up more shots per 36 that cousins (while also getting less points). So this just proves that all the LaMarcus love is bullshit.

Just an old man's conjecture but.....I think where JQ went wrong....though I believe his intentions were good....was when he started his "Behind The Locker Room Door" feature...or whatever he called it. I remember thinking at the time, "Just how naive...or egotistical...is this guy??" He actually thought he could bring the fans the "real inside stuff"", through some magical filter that would leave the players, management and fans all happy and satisfied. Yes, he thought he was smarter than everyone else....and maybe even their equal. And when it didn't work out that way, when players and management used him and lied to him for their own ends, he ended up jaded and bitter. In other words, he f**ked up. He trusted. Personally, I feel like he's maybe learned his lesson and is working his way back to being a professional again. But then, what do I know. I'm a very long time and cheap Blazer whore. I'll take any Blazer news and info I can get as long as it's fresh and has a tinge of truth to it.....
