Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for the Suns, Jason Richardson was arrested for going 50+ mph over the speed limit last night. And he had his 3 year old kid in the car, unrestrained.

Wow, I bet mom is pissed.

I wonder what his total speed was. 75 in a 25 is bad, but maybe it was 105 in a 55.

I really never mind the speeding tickets, as I'm a sports car guy. But, driving that fast with your child floating around is just stupid.

He's a fucking dumbass. Going 90 in a 35 with an unrestrained three year old. I just lost all respect for him.

It was 90 in 35 according to ESPN.

Bad news for a team that had to deal with the firing of their head coach.

At least he didnt do this when he was with the bobcats, and got a decent trade out of it.

I haven't had any since his spousal abuse conviction. Dude shoved the mother of at least one of his children so hard her head went through a wall. He told the judge she slipped.

Jesus Christ the Suns are stepping all over their collective dicks in the past couple of months. I wonder if they really will be stupid enough to trade Stoudemire instead of blowing everything else up and starting over.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Phoenix Suns guard Jason Richardson has been arrested in Scottsdale after police say he was driving 55 mph above the limit with his unrestrained 3-year-old son in the car.

Scottsdale police say an officer first saw Richardson driving 67 mph in a 40 mph zone Sunday night and followed him.

That's when the officer clocked him at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone and pulled him over.

Police say Richardson admitted to speeding and identified himself as a Suns player. The officer saw Richardson's son in the back seat of the car and that he was not in a child seat.

Richardson was arrested and charged with reckless driving, excessive speeding and failure to use a child seat. He was released from jail after a few hours.

BULLSHIT. HIS SON WAS IN A SEAT BELT.

His son wasn't "unrestrained" he just wasn't in a child seat. Big difference. Still stupid, but BIG, BIG difference and a pretty shitty lie to spread around.

A 3 year old in a seat belt is basically unrestrained.

Wow, remember when we had to deal with this type of news on a consistent basis?

wow its wierd seeing another team go down the jail blazer route with the priSUNs
the Warriors were much worse character wise then the Blazers during the same era. They had the mentioned JRich spousal abuse, Spree choking PJ, team captain Mookie skipping practice to go golfing, Cocaine distribution (Chris Porter)... and remember when Chris Mills gathered up his gangster buddies following a game with the Blazers, held their bus hostage challenging the whole team to fight?

pot possession and Tech's don't measure up to violent acts. But the W's sucked through that whole era so no one noticed.

I think the G-force alone was holding him in, so good point.

Do you know how small a three year old is? A seat belt would not do the job.

Ever driven with a 3 year old?

You'd do 90 MPH in a carwash, if it got you home faster! :devilwink:

Not to make too much light of this event, but I can remember a couple times pushing :devilwink: the speed limit when my three-year-old was telling me how bad they had to go to the bathroom while sitting in my car. I'm not sure what JRich's motivation was.

How do you slip through a wall?
My friend did that once. We were wrestling and I had him in a headlock, spun him around and put his head through the wall... I blame it on slippage, though.

Unless that kid is a physical freak (tall and big) - the real problem with having a 3 y/o restrained by a normal seat-belt is that it would come over his shoulder where his neck is - so would actually cause more problem than help in case of an accident - even if the kid is willing to stay sitted and not restrained.

Stupid move, for sure.

Poor Phoenix. Poor child of Richardson.

Does this make it more or less likely that Phoenix will deal Stoudemire? Phoenix's season is now spiraling the drain even faster.

Sad that Terry Porter, a decent person if there ever was one, and probably not a bad coach, takes the fall for this dysfunctional team. I feel for TP, Steve Nash, and other good people on the team.

Wasn't Richardson just arrested for a DUI last month?

What a Dumbass.
