I actually feel sorry for the Jazz fans.
Sloan was their identity... now Utah has nothing, and has to rebuild all over from the very top. Yikes... how do you lose to the Wiz at home.. oh well
What a lot of people don't realize is players were willing to sign and play in SLC BEACAUSE of Sloan. They were willing to play there to play under a hall of fame coach. NOBODY is going to go there now! Nobody!
I don't like the Jazz, but I feel a kinship with Utah fans: the only big-4 professional sport in town in a non-glamour location that's tough to draw free agents. They're going to go through a tough rebuilding process; it's never fun to lose.

Hard to believe they were 27-13 and in first place back on January 14. That's what happens when your coach gets run out of town and then you trade the player responsible. Usually, in such situations, you choose one or the other. The Jazz chose neither - and it's directly reflected in their record. They are now 9-26 since January 14 and 5-15 since Sloan walked.

I'm very good friends with the Director of the Jazz TV broadcasts and he also travels with the team. I hear that Williams and Sloan had a pretty rocky relationship. Got into it a few times.
I bet Williams didn't have the mental strength to deal with a coach like Sloan.
