Is he the guy who's only worked there for like two months?

Yes he is. He also worked here before. I didn't care much for him the last time he was here. However this time I thought he was pretty good. How lame to leave after just a couple months.

Well, from another perspective, he thought he was getting a show on a thriving FM station, and within a few months, he gets moved to AM on a station that for some reason broadcasts LA Dodger games in the evening.

SF is a better gig.

also he's been there since like september. so a lot more than a few months

That sucks! Lund's show was the best show on The Game IMO. It was the only show I listened to regularly.

I am so glad his annoying voice will be off the radio in Portland. The game is a sinking ship. It started when they cancelled wheel's show and it started sinking faster with the dumping of Rome. Then it goes to AM and now Lund leaves. I give this station less than a year or 2 before it is done completely.

Doesn't he also do TV for the Timbers?
L O L, no. Thank God.

They didn't cancel Wheels show. He didn't want to do it anymore for what they were paying him.

Sports in Portland is in a death spiral. Incredible, since it doesn't seem so long ago that the Timbers were flying high and the Ducks were the darlings of everything.

It's that Canzano Midas touch. He turned them to stone.

So how long until the game goes under, and they start broadcasting the games on KXL again?

I doubt it goes under, just solely for the fact they have the Ducks and Blaser broadcast rights.

The Fan survives and it's big draw (team broadcast wise) is what, the Mariners?

They probably have to pay a lot every month for those Blazer/Ducks contracts, right?

The Blazers are trying to get out of the contract with the Game. If they do it will be the death of that station. I'm disappointed, I listened to the station every day mostly for Blazer's news. I don't blame the station for going to AM if they aren't making enough money they have to do what's best for the their business. Unfortunately for them they cut off a good chunk of their audience south of Portland by going to AM. They've had some good shows like Wheels and Lund but also have two of the worst shows with Chad and Canzano. As annoying as Kenny was he did have some good contacts and was able to deliver some behind the scene news.

And trying to low ball a salary isn't considered a form of cancelling the show. "Hey, wheels, we think your show is great, but we think it is better when we are paying you less." Yeah, ok.

They survive, because I know many people that like the espn shows and issac and suke. I personally dislike both, but there is a lot more national coverage on that station.

Chad is a Rome wanna be. Lund was the best, and who can blame him? SF is a bigger market and with the lockout there will be nothing to talk about for 8 months.

Since Chad has been on his own he's knocked that Rome crap off and has become pretty good. He's better than Cowherd on 1080. He's become so annoying since he made the jump to ESPN.

Colin was annoying before he made the jump.

Is it even possible to be successful in radio without being a douche? Serious question.

Absolutely. I think there different ways to do it. Papa Joe Chevalier was opinionated but wasn't a douche.

Personally I want a radio host to create the topics, ask the tough questions, but be open minded about the answers. They don't have to be always right. Present both sides. You can be critical and question players/GM's without the new trend of bashing everyone. We love to build them up to tear them down. Why is everything these days such an extreme? They think it creates higher ratings.

We as listeners need an alternative voice to discuss things intellegently.
