He sure doesn't mess around!

After a loss to the Phoenix Suns on March 30, an irate Paxson walked into the coach’s office at the United Center and confronted Del Negro over a narrow breach of a management-imposed minutes limit on injured forward Joakim Noah(notes). Sources said Paxson first grabbed a hold of Del Negro’s tie and seemingly tried to provoke him with two successive jabs into his chest. Paxson was even heard to angrily challenge Del Negro to a fight.

Sources said Del Negro did not retaliate, mostly out of fear the incident could be used to void his contract without pay or hurt future career opportunities elsewhere. The Bulls have dispatched lawyers to interview witnesses about the incident, sources said.

Did Woj find his new favorite front office person to pile on?

Sounds like an out of control power hungry freak!

So ... how does Kevin Pritchard's arrogance fit into this story? Come on, Wojo, spill the beans. Call up Warky and get the 411.

Must be an old story.

Nowadays, enlightened folks refer to Vinnie as Mr. Del African-American.

Pax is an asshole.

That coming from a Bulls fan who's followed the team since the 1960s.

I don't know how this has anything to do with Pritchard. It would be a great day for the Bulls if he became our GM.

I'll basically repeat something I posted about this topic in the Bulls' forum:

Pax is such a good guy. This doesn't square with screaming at Vinnie more recently about not playing Noah enough (37 minute limit in that 2OT game).

Reminds me of Marcus Fizer. We drafted him and forced him to play SF. Then we figured out to play him at PF and he put up a 17.9 PER for most of a season. Then he gets hurt. Instead of letting him fully rehab, Pax ordered Cartwright to play him, and Cartwright did. Long before Fizer was fully rehabilitated. It made me cringe to even see him trying to move around on the court, he wasn't ready and was obviously in pain. His career was basically finished when he went down with another injury. Fizer ended up basically a cripple (though he later played or tried to), suffering multiple knee injuries.

I cannot fathom why anyone likes Paxson.

Old? I remember seeing Wilt and Jerry West play (a lot!).

The first NBA game I saw in person was the New York Knicks at the Baltimore Bullets. The Knicks' star was Walt Frazier and the Bullets' star was Earl Monroe. That would have been before Monroe was traded to the Knicks, where he and Frazier were one of the premier back courts for years.

I also saw the Washington Senators play at RFK stadium.

Old?
