:( man thats rough, have a co-worker traveling in Columbia right now

Horrible tragedy. Brought to mind the 1972 crash which killed most of the Uruguayan Rugby team. RIP those who died. My thoughts are with those who survived.

How do you completely rebuild a franchise from the ground up? It's basically like having an expansion team. Reminds me of what happened to Marshall University.

I don't know about this club in particular but most have a pretty deep farm system, sounds like they were a pretty small club though so probably not near as deep as some. either way I would think this is something that would set them back quite a few years.

Saw the news this morning. The devastation to family and community is going to be felt for years.

What's amazing to me is that 6 people lived! How is that possible?

I saw a picture of the wreckage and a section of the middle of the hull was left intact, I'm guessing the survivors were seated in that section.

That's one way to solve our defense and salary cap problems.

This is heartbreaking....what a horrible tragedy for all those folks and fans.

To add to the shittiness - they were a cinderella team flying to the final of the Copa Sudamericana. They wouldn't've been going if they hadn't just upset an Argentinian powerhouse. (Sidenote: the Pope supports said team. How many people are seriously thinking that this is God's retribution?)

The only parallel I can think of is "The Busby Babes"

Also, I guess, that Uruguayan Rugby Team (shudder)

That's horrible.

When the Malaysian flight disappeared MH17 -- there were 100's of people on that plane to attend the International Aids Conference. My sister in law was at that conference.. It was devastating.

A miracle. Saw the a picture of the crash and it's hard to believe anyone survived...guess they just happened to be seated in the right spot.
