Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, it is "more likely they're going to be in Anaheim."

This is sad. Sacramento had a great fan base. I think this is going to have a huge affect on the CBA negotiations for owners of small market teams. Revenue sharing may be in the future for the NBA.

This is fucking retarded. Why the hell are they going to Laker country?

Send them up to Seattle.

As long as Stern is the commish, I doubt there will be any kind of meaningful reform to give the small market teams a bone. The NBA feeds off of the large market teams and indirectly funnels the top talent there to maximize the publicity and exposure. 5 super-teams in large markets and 20-ish Washington Generals. That's Stern's dream NBA.

LA is a big place.

OC peeps need their own team. Big fucking area. Most of them are just L*ker fans because its right in the area...

OC is really douchey though. Probably going to get a bunch of douchebag fan runoff.

They will not have a big fanbase in OC. There is no way in hell...

LA is bandwagon city. They'll have their base. Just like the Angels or the Mighty Ducks. Sure there will be L*ker fans but the thing is a bunch of OC'ers don't like LA in general and this gives them another option.

I, for one, welcome a team that's closer to San Diego- another opportunity for me to go see the Blazers.

It's about time white middle class people in Southern California got a team to cheer for!

Now I can stay at my Grandma's in Riverside instead of the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Ray when we play the Kings!!!!!!!

I worked in Riverside for one summer. Even McDonald's playland has bars on the windows!

I was born in Riverside, but I feel sorry for Los Angeles because they have only 3 NBA teams. Maybe the Hornets will move there and ease the pain.

Don't fuck with Riverside FAMS! La Familia! Funny story, my 2 aunts went to HS with Cheryl Miller at Poly High. Once I started in Sports Broadcasting after working with Cheryl a few times I talked to her about it and she knew them well. To this day when she sees me she hollers out "Riverside!!" not "Portland!!"

Riverside is horrible. but it makes a nice song.

3 teams is too much for that area. But I bet they do a better job of getting free agents. Life would not be bad living in New Port Beach, Hunting Beach, Laguna, Rancho Palos Verdes. Dana Point..............

Kobe lives in Newport Beach and helicopters to games i believe. I think an LA and an OC team would be fine....3 is kind of overkill...but they have certain segments of fans. Clippers fans are very strange. Its a weird underbelly of LA culture within itself. The thing is they can actually support a team out in OC more than Sacramento could....lots of people and its so spread out anyway.

If San Diego gave a fuck about sports, I'd say they'd be a good city to put the Kings in. Too bad, they don't.

Why isn't Seattle an option here?

They already lost their team. They showed they couldn't even save a team even with a superstar like Durant.

You should ask her about when she and Reggie would hustle older kids on the playground. She'd put her hair in pigtails and they'd take peoples money.

Well, it was nice seeing the Blazers. Guess that is in the past.

The Blazers "sphere of influence" grows even larger. Kings fans hate the Warriors, so who else would they like if they don't quit the nba altogether?

I thought you usually went to Warriors games?

Problem is, I am convinced the Warriors hire people to stay up late at night trying to figure out ways to keep fans from having fun. Seriously. Every game they think up some other restriction. It's so depressing sometimes I don't even bother to go see Portland.

Sacramento is a much better place to see a game.

Man, we're gonna be on a freakin island.

The Maloofs got the votes they needed to move to Anaheim. I'm not sure how they will do moving to the OC. A lot of OC fans are Clipper fans so this could potentially hurt the Clippers fan base. The rumor is the Maloofs are more interested in the prospects of a TV deal with Fox Sports and KCAL. Those stations are losing the Laker broadcasts and the Maloofs want to fill the void.
