Just started reading this book by Terry Frei about the Oregon Webfoots in 1939 and their race to become the 1st NCAA champions in history. Fascinating read. First two pages I learned so much about the history of the sport. They were also called the Tall Firs with two centers, one 6'6 and one 6'8. No goal tending rules so most shots even from deep were two handed bank shots. Palming the ball was fine and you could foul like crazy...score were also 25-8, etc. I highly recommend this gem of a basketball book. Thought I'd share that. Also learned the U of O didn't finance Mac Court but the students did.

I really should learn to start more controversial threads, they get so much more traffic

You gave us 22 minutes to find and read the book...I finished 21 minutes ago so I read it again.
