OT: Mavs Trade Diop to 'Cats for Carroll and Hollins

The Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Bobcats have reached an agreement after last week's collapse of a three-way deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This one, however, does not involve Bobcats guard Raymond Felton.

The Mavericks and Bobcats completed a deal sending Dallas center DeSagana Diop to Charlotte for guard Matt Carroll and center Ryan Hollins on Friday.

Part of a bigger deal?

I believe both guys contracts are up this season so the Mavs could waive both to bring in two players. I actually think the Diop did some nice things for them this year. Not real sure why they would do this deal unless it is part of something bigger.

Yeah, even if they're just being actively discussed in trade talks they can't play. So most likely they won't play, plus they still have to report to the teams and get checked out.

I thought Dallas regretted last season trading away Diop... and now they just do it again. They got Dampier and Bass now to man up front... not exactly a scary tandem to bang down low with.

Love this trade for Portland, now Dallas is even thinner up front. Bass and Dampier are their only bigs, they should have fun with that in the West.
