Sure the gov could overwhelm any one person with force, the thing is, there are 300 million guns in america, not just a few at totes house.

seizing your property. one of the biggest arguments I hear from pro gun members is they have the right to bare arms to protect themselves and their land from others and the govt. this was made up during a time when a revolution was upon the land and it made sense for put this out there for freedome fighters to side with the colonists.

No where did Thomas Jeffereson, Ben Franklin and others thought up of guns that can kill tens of individuals within a mere trigger pull.

but that is a discussion for another time and day. I will just let my opinion known that although I believe you have the right to bare weapons, there should be a limit to it. want to hunt with a rifle..fine....want a revolver to protect your home from robbers...

don't feel there is a need to have ak-47's piled up in your compound
any and all semi automatic guns should be for military and police use only.

...Al, again, if there is some some of collective uprising against the government it will be guerilla type warfare with multiple cells that are very mobile and very hard to completely eradicate...and I seriously doubt the government can persuade today's troops to fire on their own people, or drop bombs on them.
...as far as bringing up what Franklin, Jefferson, et al were thinking when the drew up The Bill of Rights, I doubt they envisioned the government gradually morphing into something of a socialist state either.

...if you'd rather possibly be a passive victim instead of a gun owner, that's also your right. As the saying goes, I'd rather have a weapon and not need it than to need a weapon and not have it.

Actually, I'm not going to be using guns, I'll be firing Missles, IBM and ICBM's. NTM- hacking into and turning that satellite laser on wherever its required....!
