What's with those Hornets? 3-0 is something only RoyToy might've predicted. And they just beat the Spurs at home. Kudos to Monty Williams, I guess. And Dell Demps for NOT trading Chris Paul. Who I guess is pretty good. Is this just because people started calling Deron Williams the best PG in the NBA?

(Bayless has yet to contribute much, though, it must be said.)

Of course, getting traded right after training camp is about as bad timing as you can get. So, I expect JB to suck less later.

Amazing what a healthy Chris Paul will do to an otherwise meh team.

3.6% of the season is over... They could still be one of the worst 5 teams or the best 5 teams. I think it is ridiculous to try to project where the pick will be right now..

Well, I was just being a smartass :innocent:

lol, you think the Hornets are going to be that good huh?

It's hard to say with Paul. It's not like the team that he took to the playoffs a couple years back was that great either. Personally I think he made West and Chandler into All-Star caliber players. He's that good.

I hope not. But Chris Paul is the best PG in the NBA and he has a better supporting cast than last year with the additions of players like Ariza and Bellinelli, not to mention David West, who is still a very good PF. So I think it's possible that the Hornets can be top 10 in the league. If CP3 stays healthy (and happy), NO will be a pretty good team.

Top 10 in the West is one thing. To draft in the 20's you have to have a top 10 team in the entire league.

^ I thought you were sick! SHouldn't you be in bed?

Watching the Hornets/Heat game, it's fun to see a team play defense and have their star give up the ball for a wide open 3 as the game comes down to the wire. Monte has them playing very well. Up by 3 with 7 seconds left

New franchise record for wins to start a season. NO beats Miami by executing down the stretch.

They're playing good. But, I'm not sold yet. That bench is waaaay to weak for them to be a serious contender.

Who said the Hornets would be a good team again? Was that me?

Certainly it was crazy talk to think a team with a healthy Chris Paul and a better starting lineup would blow by the 37 wins that they won last year. Combine that with Monte who will have his team in every game much like Nate and you have a team that's a threat to win 50 games.

Just think

Paul/West/Okafor is not much different than Roy/Aldridge/Camby
Thornton is essentially Matthews
Ariza can play the Batum role

Paul is betteer than Roy. David West is an All Star. Okafor is better than Camby. Wow.

Congrats to Monty for his terrific start. I think Nate needs to give him a call and tell him we need a good draft pick. Maybe he can send the injury bug to him for Christmas.

Oh shit!

Every year there's teams that start out nice 4 or 5 games into the season only to wobble into the playoffs, or fall short of them all together. The Hornets are looking like 2010/11's version.

That said, I've always liked Monty as a coach.

Good for Monty! Hope we kick their ass next week!

Nate should call him to ask how to get more movement in our offense
