OAKLAND — It took a third loss on this trip, the second against a team going nowhere this season, to finally get Chris Bosh to blow.

Yes, The Franchise is officially pissed, and that’s not a good thing for anybody who hopes he’s sticking around past this summer.

Bosh, of course, didn’t play that card. That’s not his style, but in the wake of a 124-112 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, the eighth defeat in the past nine games for the Raps, Bosh didn’t hold much else back.

He wasn’t throwing around theories. He was imploring everyone in a Raptors uniform to start taking this playoff thing seriously.

“Just do it,” Bosh said in an expectably quiet Raptors locker room. “Act like you care. We need to do the things that win. We don’t do the things that win. I’m going down and playing offence on their side of the court and their (bench) is louder than we are. That doesn’t make any sense. They’re not playing for anything. We’re trying to make the playoffs. We’re trying to get the fifth seed but that is, like, slipping away every day.”

Once on a roll, there was no stopping him.

“We’re supposed to be gearing up for playoff basketball and this is not playoff basketball,” he said. “Their bench is more active than ours is. They’re players are getting more stops. They’re getting more offensive rebounds. Everybody is doing everything. If you look on the schedule now and see Toronto, I’m sure people are checking the win box. I can understand if we lose a game going down fighting, but we’re not fighting at all.”...............

....................“We’re just not coming out and playing basketball like we need to, I guess,” Bosh said. “For some reason, we just don’t like to secure leads and win basketball games. That’s the only thing I can think of. We come out here, we talk about it. We have a billion meetings, but we can talk all we want. Unless we do something about it really doesn’t matter. We’re talking about the third quarter. We talked about the third quarter yesterday. We talked about it at shootaround today and then we go out and do the same thing. I don’t know. We just lack execution.”

Bosh, it should be pointed out isn’t blameless here, either. While he did finish the night with 24 points and 11 rebounds he also contributed to the problem with a team-high six turnovers.

Head coach Jay Triano certainly didn’t give him a pass, singling out Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu after the game.

“We can get it turned around by having our guys play better,” he said, offering the simplest solution. “Our best guys have to play better, bottom line. What did their best guys do? Thirty-five (from Stephen Curry), 31 (from Monta Ellis) and 20 (from Corey Maggette). Bottom line, we’re not getting that right now.”

As angry as he is with the current malaise in the locker room, Bosh doesn’t have an answer for it.

“I’m glad I’m not one of the coaches,” he said. “I wouldn’t know what to do, either. We changed I don’t know how many times, I don’t know how many speeches you can give. I don’t know how many lineup changes there can be. I don’t know.

“I mean, the coaches can only do so much. We have to take control of this thing because time is ticking and it’s counting down. We keep playing like we are right now and we’re going to be on the outside looking in.”

Bosh and his teammates won’t have to wait long for another chance. They were off to Portland afterwards for a date with the Trail Blazers on Sunday night.

Re: Mt. Boshmore Erupts

That doesn't really make me feel any better about the Blazers chances against the Raptors; if they've ever had a chink in their armor, it's playing against teams with a massive chip on their shoulder.

Tonight will be a dog fight. You know Jack will be amped up.

Chink in their armor? Hmmm....isn't that what Don Nelson related to Craig Sager regarding the Blazers between the 3rd and 4th quarters of last Thursday's game? :D

Re: Mt. Boshmore Erupts

This sounds like the deal when Juwan went off after the OKC loss and we smashed Phoenix on the road the next night. I really am believing the Blazers will be ready for it tonight.

Re: Mt. Boshmore Erupts

i think his comments were directed at hedo and the younger players but thats just me speculating because they both have a tendency to sulk when things dont go their way.

BTW, expect Turkeyglue to get roundly booed EVERY time he touches the ball.

Actually we should be cheering; he saved KP from himself.

I still think he would have been a nice fit, just not at that price. Also just because he's having a bad year in Toronto doesn't mean he would have had a bad year in Portland. That said I'm pretty happy with our team, minus the injuries. Miller has turned out to be a nice fit and had GO stayed healthy I think we'd be battling for a top 4 spot instead of just trying to make the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed.

Can one possibly imagine what this board would be like if the Blazers were dropping games like Toronto is right now? There'd be about a dozen posters so furiously flaming the team that they'd hyperventilate. I mean, we have a few people who are ready for the nut ward every time we lose.

Check out the Raptors forum at realgm.com sometime.

lol at the Raptors, then again, I have not watched a game wire to wire since the start of the Olympics.

Heh, at least I predict some things correctly. :)
