OT: Orlando to win it all?

I'm so happy Orlando is ruining the NBA's dream matchup of Kobe vs. Lebron :D

For all of Lebron's great shots tonight - he blew that game. 3 t/o in OT. I know, I know - he drained that 3 to pull them back within 1 with 6 seconds left. And his numbers look ungodly with 44/12/7. Still . . . those were 3 REALLY, REALLY bad unforced t/o's in OT. I've seen Kobe miss shots, but other than those air balls vs Utah when he was still a teenager - I can't remember him ever making mental errors like that.

That said, Orlando is playing out of their head. I think they are blowing their wad. It reminds me of when Golden State beat Dallas a few years ago (#1 vs #8 seed) They had to shoot almost 50% from 3 to win - and they did.

Watch Orlando's weaknesses rear their ugly heads in the finals . . . vs the Lakers. I've never seen Rashard Lewis be this clutch. Or how about Dwight Howard becoming a (clutch) 75% free throw shooter overnight? Law of averages . . .

couldn't agree more with this post. you even saw rashard's choking at the end by missing the first FT and even giving lebron a shot at the win. i was wrong on them though, i thought cleveland would roll and Orlando has played well.

let's hope that roy is watching lebron and noticing that is how we looked at the end of every game this season. 1 on 5 isn't a way to consistant success in the NBA.

Orlando owned the Lakers 2-0 this season.

True, but there's a couple things that worry me about Orlando's chances should they meet the Lakers in the finals:

1 - Dwight Howard's 7th technical. When he gets it, he's out a game, and you know that Phil will find a way to get into Superman's head.

2 - Law of averages. Orlando's ahead in the series, and proving that they're the better team in this stretch, but if we want to talk about making sure the Lakers lose, I would prefer to have the Cavs facing the Lakers.

However, that Laker series is far, far from over. I'm sure Stern is having cold-sweat nightmares about a Denver/Orlando final. And frankly, if it means a sad Kobe *and* a sad Stern, I'm all for it.

If Orlando faces Denver, I'd take Orlando in 7.

I would have LOVED to see a Blazers Magic finals

One of my best friends is from Orlando... we've kinda been arguing a lot lately, and that series probably would have ended us. I'm glad it didn't happen this year.

The Lakers aren't going to lose to Denver.

It might go 7. Same outcome as the Houston series if it does. They truly are a much different team on their home floor. I know Denver got game 2. No way they get another at LA.

It seems like the Lakers have another gear they can go to. They get criticized for not playing with a sense of urgency, but all year they come through when they have to. 4-0 against Boston and Cleveland (who looked like the teams to beat) They smoked Houston in game 7. I have no reason to think they won't respond. And when they play with energy - they win. They have more weapons offensively than Denver. And frankly the refs have let Denver play more aggressive defensively IN DENVER. Back in LA? Look for the Lakers to shoot about 40-50 FT in game 5. If Denver is able to keep game 5 close, watch for the Lakers to get the close calls in the end. Conspiracy? Nah, the refs won't let it look that bad. But on the CLOSE calls, which way do you think it's going to go?

No way will you see Orlando and Denver in the finals. No friggin way.

They almost got game 1, too.

I definitely think LA is the favourite, but Denver does have a chance, IMO.

I agree with pretty much all of this except for the 7th tech part...Im willing to bet that will be taken away.

I know what I want but dont know what to think about the Lakers series...On the Orlando side I agree that there is a good possibility that they cant sustain this level (dear god)...Bynum has played mostly bad against Dwight if that ends up happening...Im aging quickly watching these playoffs

You guys have zero chance against the Magic. You better hope the Cavs win. Oh wait, you have no chance against the Cavs either. Oh wait, it doesn't matter because you're losing to the Nuggets in 6. Sorry!

*edited: Trash talking about sports is fine...making it personal is not*

But wait, I thought Houston was going to sweep them? Oh sensationalism...

I would definately prefer the cavs, Lake Show don't match up well with the magic: can't guard the 3 and gasol/bynum will get abused by howard. That said, their wins against us in the regular season had a lot to do with nelson, and even if he comes back in the finals, I can't see him playing as well again.
