Hopefully the surgery will help him.

Not surprised. I think Joel is probably done as a player, but honestly I'd love to see him come back in some capacity with the organization. I don't really see him in broadcasting because he's not really the outgoing type, though I really enjoyed interviewing him because of his honesty. He just isn't very engaging haha.

What would he do? I imagine when he's not playing basketball he will only want to live back home.

He had said if he was traded he was going to retire. He has a place in Milwaukee and up North in the woods. Loves the outdoors. He would never do any broadcast or anything like that. I would love to bring him back!

I saw Joel and his son at Costco more than once. One time, they were returning something ahead of my girls and me in line.

Somebody who takes the time to return something small to Costco, and stand in line with the rest of us, strikes me as someone who isn't going to waste all of his money. :)

I wish him the best in his retirement. A great guy to talk to the few times we conversed. We had a Monticello, MN, connection, which was kind of cool.

Costco is great for restaurant supplies. You can get giant bottles of relish, hundreds of frozen hamburger patties, and thousands of colorful toothpicks with festive tassels.

I was returning the napkins. They had a crease in them. My Burger Hut won't stand for less-than-marginal product!

I thought you ran a vegan deli?

We're merging with the Burger Hut down the street from whatever street I'm on now. It's a tough economy, so I had to diversify. Apparently, people these days actually want to get some protein in their diet that doesn't taste like cardboard, or cost $8 for a soy wrap. :)

Back on Topic,

IMO, If were a contender in his eyes, He'll come back. He's a warrior.

Impossible to know what the chances are we get those final pieces to finally challenge the West, But I think there good.

With the lack of Centers in the league and a long lockout looming for extra rest and rehab I think it's 90/10 that we plays a few more seasons.

Had a great vegan dinner last night (big salad, whole wheat spaghetti with tomato mushroom ragout, braised green beans I deep froze from last year's garden) and a piece of dark chocolate.

Back to the point, I can see Przy as a coach. But if he wants to spend the rest of his life living in the country with his family, hey, it's his life.

Did Anyone Else think "hot damn we REALLY robbed michael jordan!"

Na but I was thinking hot damn he really did feel sorry trashing Portland year after year and dashing our title aspirations!

Maybe he can make some improvements in a year or two and stick as a 13th man to play in emergency situations. This season he was horrid, I much prefer Collins or Johnson to get a couple spot minute at this time. Sadly I don’t see him ever regaining enough to become a good backup or stopgap starter as he was for a few years with us. I said it at the time of his injury and all throughout his rehab; no basketball player has ever regained their form from that patella tendon injury and it was far fetched to expect more out of Pryzbilla. McDyess probably had the best post injury career but he was a far more elite all-star player pre-injury, so a diminished McDyess was still an effective role player. A diminished role player doesn’t have a place in the NBA.

Pryz was a great surprise addition back in the Nash era, I remember him coming from nowhere, first playing limited minutes, then extended minutes, working pick and rolls with Damon his first year and getting a couple crazy 20pt 20reb type games. He was only brought in to be a Joe Klein player at the end of the bench but provided us with many years of solid big man play. He really maximized his gifts, the guy had little offensive talent and marginal athleticism but pounded down low whenever the team needed. He improved from a horrid free throw shooter to acceptable, and was careful with his shot selection leading the league in field goal percentage for part of a season. Good luck Pryz with whatever your next adventure is!

Guarantee you Pryz would've been waived - according to plan - after traded to Charlotte, had Charlotte fans not been in such an uproar about trading Crash.

The only reason he played a second in a Bobcat jersey was for Jordan to save face and try to pretend like his trade wasn't selling the face of their franchise for 2 cents on the dollar.

Not that I can speak with any assuredness about the current health of Joel's knee, but I'm completely confident in saying that MJ's ego is the only reason Joel isn't once-again a Blazer.

Doubt me? Ask yourself this... Regardless of health - HOW IN THE WORLD, did a team, so often bereft of size, trade a center and a PF who had been reasonably effective given his marginal expectations for a SF, without any backup plan? Chris Johnson and Jarron Collins weren't the backup plan, Joel was.
