The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is one of my favorite movies. 98 years old and was still acting very late in life. One heck of a career and one heck of a life for sure.

Yeah he was the UGLY and a damn fine character actor. And has been married to actress Anne Jackson (87) for the last AMAZING 66 years. RIP Eli.

...yeah, I think that's the movie I'll most remember him for...I think his name was Tuco or something.

Lee Van Cleef was from Somerville, NJ.

Eli was the Mexican bad guy in the Magnificent 7. And who could forget Don Altobello eating the poisoned canoli at the opera in GF3.

...didn't realize until I heard about his death this morning, that Eli was from Brooklyn/Bronx?

He wasn't Mexican? Lol!

Anyone see the movie "The Holiday"? Played on the theme of his belated professional tribute.

Who said he was Mexican? He was Jewish born in Red Hook Brooklyn.

Eli was from Brooklyn. Played just about every character and acted with everyone from Clark Gable to Al Pacino. Imagine the things he saw being born in 1915?

Rick....because of his western and spaghetti western characters....people thought he was Mexican...he his own words, can't find the interview yet.

He wasn't old enough at the time but he would've been a good Hyman Roth in GF2. He got his chance in the third installment.

Truly great character actor. RIP.

He had a great cameo in the short-lived "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" in 2006. One of the episodes showed him as an Alzheimer's-riddled veteran trying to get a picture of his time writing for the old comedy classics before he was blacklisted for making inappropriate political jokes. Going strong at over 90!
