Cowherd just said that Blake was statistically the best "catch and shoot" player in the NBA last year. That means receive a pass, no dribble, and shoot.

I didn't know that.

No surprise to me.

The absence of such a player is glaringly apparent this season.

Considering Korver shot .536 last year from 3 point land, I am guessing he is blowing smoke up your collective asses.

Last year? Blake was dreadful from everywhere the first fifty games and I don't recall him being all that effective with the Clippers ... now if we're talking about his career year two years ago, I'd probably buy that.

Cowherd is a douche - but it is pretty clear that Steve Blake is a much better player than people give him credit for - and people make the exact same mistake that Denver did - sold him short.

It was still a good trade for the Blazers last year to get Camby, but Steve Blake is a fantastic complimentary player on good teams.

What does 3-point % have to do with 'catch and shoot'?

All Korver does it catch and shoot dude. Maybe you should go watch him play every once in a while. Then you wouldn't have to ask the obvious question.

Lots of players go to great teams and look a lot better than they really are. When I heard all the media talk about the Lakers signing Blake and Barnes this offseason and how great of an offseason they had I found it funny. If almost all teams had those two as their key offseason acquisitions, it would be a disaster. Playing next to hall of fame players makes you look great. Shit, look at how good Ariza was as a Laker.

Trading away a mediocre player like Blake isn't the reason the team is struggling a little bit.

I have watched him play. Cowherd referenced a statistic that surprises me. I can't find any "catch-and-shoot" statistics, anywhere, so I'm not simply going to take your word about Korver's "catch-and-shoot" stats. I'm not taking Cowherd's word, either, but he actually has many NBA sources. As far as I can tell, you have none. :)

This team is in dire need of some Blake.

Matthews is supposed to be the catch-and-shoot threat from the corner. Cho even mentioned in an interview that Wesley had a 50-odd% 'catch-and shoot' three-ball from the right corner. If he can start hitting some 3s, the offense will be much more effective.

On the court, I'll take Andre over Blake. Off the court, I'll take Blake over Miller. put it all together in Blazer land and I would rather have Blake (I would rather have Miller and Roy totally bonded and trying to figure out together how they will win, but I don't think tha is going to happen)
