ESPN.com's Andy Katz reported Tuesday night that the
Memphis Grizzlies and
Minnesota Timberwolves were talking about swapping first round picks. The Grizzlies would send picks No. 25 and No. 28 to the Timberwolves for No. 16.
According to
The Commercial-Appeal, Memphis prefers to wait until the draft begins before doing the deal as they want to see which players are available at No. 16.
"Talking about and doing are two different things," general manager Chris Wallace said. "Every team in the league is talking about moving up, moving down, moving out ... all of that stuff is swirling around right now."
Yahoo! Sports reports Portland is willing to send Memphis the No. 34 pick and $3 million to get either the No. 25 or No. 28 pick.
