(OT) Twitterverse going nuts about Jerry Sloan right now

I know this will spin Papa G out of his head but I think they should make Sloan coach of the WC in the ASG.

I'm sure Pop wouldn't mind taking the weekend off.

I read a good idea on Jazz forum. Name the COY award him. It would be ironic as hell ('cause he's never won the award), but really fitting.

Nah, Stern has already said he's going to name the COY after Kevin Love.

I did email my all star coaching idea to Brian T Smith and he's going to ask Pops and Sloan about it.

I'd have no problem with that at all. Seems like a good idea. Kind of fitting that his last game would be a meaningless exhibition. ;)

The Jerry Sloan 'You'll Now Never Win a Title and Are Still Likely Will Be Fired Within 3 Years" Coach of the Year Award.

Sounds good to me!

What would you next season if Jerry Sloan was coaching the Blazers with Andre Miller as the point guard and Kevin Love as the starting power forward?

Look forward to the lottery.

In a legacy of stupid things you have said, this may very well be the dumbest.

His teams made the playoffs all but two years.
He made the finals twice and the second round multiple times.

The Jazz team that existed after Malone and Stockton left still managed to be respectable.

Apparently you think Aldelman is a pile of shit.
He never won a damn thing.

Ramsey only won a single title, the fucking loser.

Come to think of it, look at all the Blazer players that never won a title.
Porter sucks.
Buck Williams is a pile of shit.
Fuck Sabonis, what a choker.

Well either that or the idea that not winning a title makes a player/coach worthless is fucking stupid.
Take your pick.

1) Sloan never won a championship. That is all you play for. Banners. A billion playoff appearances without a title is failure.

2) Never said Sloan was a piece of shit so no, I don't think Adelman is a piece of shit. But Adelman has never won anything either. Had best record in the league with Blazers ('91) and Kings ('02) and didn't reach the Finals in either time.

And HCP...

3) Overly sensitive? I don't see how using homophobic slurs and calling a player a "c**t" is supposed to be "good coaching." I've never heard of Phil Jackson treating players like that and he has 11 championships.

You can't use 2002 as an example though. Eventually you have to realize some teams have no depth and simply get injured throughout the year. In the playoffs they don't raise their level at all, merely play to their abilities.

Prime Shaq missed 25 games and with the ok depth they still won 58 games. In the playoffs they were built to cover up their weaknesses.
