Great move for MEM. They had long stretches in the playoffs where they just couldn't score.
How does signing, going to be 38 year old in January and shot 40% from the floor, Vince Carter address that?
Field goal percentage doesn't account for three-pointers or free throws. His TS% (which essentially accounts for points per shot attempt) has been solid over the past couple of seasons. He's still a decent offensive player, even if he isn't great.
I am aware what the TS% is, thanks. The point was that he's not a huge scorer anymore, and 3 years and 12 million (or 2 years and 8 million + partial 3rd year) is a lot for a guy who will be pushing 40 in that time frame.
If Portland signed him to that, it'd be a waste of money.

Should have gone to Toronto
That would have been a half-manly and half-amazing way to end his career.
I still think the Blazers should have made a pitch to Vince Cater.
So you would be fine with Freeland and Leonard as the backup centers then?I still think the Blazers should have made a pitch to Vince Cater.
