Sorry, I just need to vent...
This year sucks so far... ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!
hell, this week sucks especially...
Monday, 2 things... 1, our furnace wouldn't stay lit... so we had to call someone out, had a couple of clogged filters and a slightly gunked up nozzle... I guess it was good that happened on Monday before the temps dropped like they did... and 2, my wife was as sick as a dog when she got home from her prenatal Dr appointment... I felt horrible for her...
Tuesday I had another 2 issues... 1, the transmission in my car (a manual) was partially frozen/locked up... took over 15 minutes with the car running before I could get it into reverse to back up... and then later that day, my wife went to go do a load of laundry and found the pipes were frozen in the basement... fortunately it was just the pipes to the washing machine, and she was quickly able to set up a space heater we had on hand for emergencies... pipes were able to be thawed, and she even got a couple of loads of laundry in, but still wasn't feeling all that hot...
Today, I hit a really slick sheet of black ice right after I crested a hill on a curve on a back road on my way to work... lost control, fish tailed for a bit before hitting my right rear quarter panel into a stop sign (taking it out)... I'll need body work done on the car, but a bigger issue is that I slid across grass, snow/ice, and gravel before coming to a stop and then to drive back over it to get out of the field... my transmission (yes, same one that had an issue yesterday) feels like there might be something in it near 1st and 2nd gear... as I release the clutch, there is an unusual noise and feeling to it... I called the place I bought the vehicle, but they are so backed up, they can't see me until Monday morning at the earliest... so I made an appointment at another dealership 40 miles away this afternoon to have them at least look at it... and to pour salt in my wounds, the cop told me that he might issue me a citation for going to fast for the conditions even though I was going below the speed limit... WTF!!! at least I wasn't the car behind me that hit the same patch of black ice about 30 seconds after me, but he hit an embankment hard and snapped his axle...
2015 can't get here soon enough for me...
