to confirm the question, who has been drafted, played their rookie deal, been extended (or matched as RFA), played out that deal, and then been extended a second time or re-signed a second time, all with the same team?
You'd only be looking at players who have been in the league at least 9 years. Like Pierce, Kobe, Dirk, Parker, Wade. You're right, it's not a very long list. It's a transient league.

Look at the bright side, think of how many value players we can get with 15 million off the book. 4-6 players?

I think he's probably more deflated than any of us as to what happened with the Roy-LA-GO plan. He had to live it. I could imagine that kind of experience would make him want to move on as well.
There's also weirdness from the old old CBA that allowed for huge, long contracts... now that it's 4 or 5 years max, it might change a bit...
