Imagine if I would've told you in July of 2007 that, in 6 years, one team would have LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Oden, Beasley (kind of random, but freshman-to-be Beasley was compared to what, say, Jabari Parker is today)...
a) who would you have thought it would be?
b) If I told you two would be broken-down or ineffective, who would you have thought? (Or conversely, which 3 would you have thought would be playing at an All-Star level in 2012-13?
I would've probably thought the Celtics, because the only way, barring catastrophic injury
, that Oden would be going to another team during his "team control" years would be in trade (and the C's had a ton of young assets and draft picks before the Garnett/Allen trades), that they would've drafted Beasley to go with Rondo and Jefferson in the 2008 lotto, and because they had so many young and cheap players (and history) that they could woo LeBron in his Free Agency year, then picked up injured Wade and Bosh as veterans going ring-shopping in 2010.
