I thought he was supposed to be the next Dirk or something.

Turned out to be 43. Retired to China.

He is the Asian Larry Bird. He is currently GM'ing the Indiana Pacers of China.

He's still a work in progress. I think he is improving and some day he will get there. But right now he is out with a fractured something. Injuries are a problem for him.

Damn send some "Chinese cooks" to the Houstan and Jersey training facility. Something about them playing in the US is crazy. Chinese just can't stay healthy in the US.

He's just hurt, mag. In the 4 games he played this season, he's not far off of what Oden was last season: 9.8 ppg 7.5 rpg 1.2 bpg

His career high- 29 points- is also higher than Oden's. If Oden's not a bust, then neither is Yi.

Comparing Yi with G.O.? Ugh..

Here's my point:

Greg has gotten out of the gate slowly statistically. Most people (not Blazers fans) that I talk to think he's a bust because he's not Shaq already. But we know different. Same thing with Yi. Just because he hasn't put up gawdy statistics yet, it's easy for the non-Bucks/Nets fan to say that Yi is a bust. But the ones in the know can see that Yi is going to be a star in this league if he stays healthy.

Yi can be a star in the league if he stays healthy?

Which of his years in the league showed you that? The one where he played 66 games with a PER of 11.3, the one where he played 61 games with a PER of 10.9 or his scintillating start for this year, where at 4 games he is at a PER of 10.4

If this guy is going to be a star, our very own #6 Webster who managed a 12.0 PER year during his first 3 years in the league is clearly on the path to the HOF.

Please. If Yi can be a nice role-player, NJN will be happy. The best thing Yi did in his career is bring Chinese eye-balls to Bucks games.

Your logic is terrible.

Yi needs to rebound the ball better, and play better defense.

Actually, even his offense is in need of improvement. All he can really do is catch the ball and shoot.

As a fan of Yi and a spectator of his every game, I can say that he certainly won't be a superstar in the NBA. However, if he keeps up his continuous improvements (including adding a lot of bulk to his frame during the past summer) offensively, defensively, physically, and mentally, he could be a solid starter in this league. I see him peaking at around 16 pt/ 8 reb a game at his prime, which I think will be in the next 2-3 years.

Yi is averaging 7.4 rebounds per game this season. That's only 1 less than Oden.

King, I'm not saying he's a bust, but there was a hella media hype on the kid. I haven't heard shit about him for about a year. That's why I asked. It's like he fell off the radar.

more chinese overhype....they needed the next yao but ummm it aint happening....

Oden fell off the radar too, but now he's comin back.....

Same will be true of Yi. If Yi was playing the Nets would probably be 8-7.

No Oden hasn't King. Remember, I live in L.A. and they were talking about him all the time. In fact, I've seen more ESPN about Oden in the Summer than Yi has his entire career in the NBA. He completely fell off the radar King. That's why I asked.

Don't fall for his stupid act again. I'm sure KingSpeed's laughing at you all. He can't be this stupid, he's just back to his check mate thing.

Don't worry Vinyard, the Nets will be squared away once Yi gets healthy, Keith Van Horn hits his stride, and Kerry Kittles returns to form. ;)
