I know we were interested in him in the past. He can really do it all, on both ends of the floor, a fascinating talent ready to erupt.

My inquiry: what's his contract status and what would it take to bring him to Portland?

He's on the last year of a $28 million contract. So it would likely need to be a CJ trade or such.

His health is the biggest concern, only played 28 games last season and 14 the season prior. Not the ideal defender we need from a 3+D player, and at 28 years old he is going to start declining athletically.

(edit he is actually a free agent in July so it wouldn't be a CJ trade, but a signing)

He's 28... Not sure if he's about to errupt. Seems like he would be in his prime right now.

I know nothing about him other than he's 6'8" and seems like he'd be duplication with RoCo

Trust me, I've seen him on the Bulls, he's MUCH better than Roco if he stays healthy.
Would be a better signing for the MLE than anyone else available, can play both forward positions and if he's healthy he's a starter. Nevermind what happened with the Bulls and that they traded him for Vucevic, they're poorly run.
Pull the trigger on this Neil, it's certainly light years better than signing another aeroplane mode.

We are almost at the tax line with a Zach Collins QO and no re-signed Norman Powell. If we re-sign Powell we are definitely operating as an over the tax team, and that would mean we only have the taxpayers MLE of 5 Million. Don't think that is quite enough to get Porter, but he's had many injuries over the last few years so who knows. The upside is there if you get him on a good deal, but he's not altering the trajectory of your team.

He has been at times a very good 3&D player who can make a pass and create a little.

His health holds him back. His ability got him his current contract. His ability to stay on the court will get him his next much smaller contract.

Olshey said he didn't hear Nurkic's comments.
Then he corrected the media member on what Nurkic said.

Huh? It can't be both ways.

Why didn't the media call him on that?

Yeah, he wanted to weasel his way out of talking about it at all and for sure he heard Nurk. Then the reporter spun Nurk's comments way too far in the negative for Neil's liking and Neil decided to spin it his way and play dumb like his initial comment about not hearing Nurk was because Neil and the reporter couldn't have been listening to the same thing. Some Neil Olshey 101 shit.

Really? You don't know why?

True...the media is afraid to do their job because they are scared of a remedial soap opera actor and they might not be called on next press conference.

So #fail on both sides.

Porter would be a very good 'get' for Portland if they could get him for the TMLE. For that price, you aren't relying on him for major contributions, but if/when he does play, you should get good production for the $$$ spent.

Otto Porter Jr. only in a buyout situation. The Oft-injured forward can't stay healthy. No way i trade anything of value for him. NO FREAKING WAY.

He's a FA
