I know enough about the new players we got, except for our draftees. I don't follow college ball at all. Are any of them exceptional players or guaranteed stars? Are they ready to play or projects?

McCollum "could" be Lillard ready or close to it, that's the hope anyway. After that it's a crap shoot

CJ is ready right away to start at SG. Before his injury he was the most efficient scorer of any guard in college basketball.

Crabbe looks like he can be thrown in like how Nate used James Jones -- stay in the corner!

He shouldn't be used that way. He's much more versatile than for that to be his role.

CJ was an All-Star for the Patriot League. Gotta be good.

Not really. They aren't really that similar.

Lillard has a much quicker release on his jumper, he is more athletic, giving him the ability to create his own shot easier, and is a far superior passer. I have no idea what McCollum will become, but Lillard probably isn't the best example

McCollum is a better shooter than Lillard, a good enough passer to substitute at PG, but only 6-3 at SG. He could almost start now, like Lillard did.

Crabbe is 6-6, only 200 pounds, mediocre at passing and dribbling, but as good a shooter as McCollum, so he'll be a catch-and-shoot SG. Crabbe will be our worst player his rookie year, so his fans will find the D-League website.

Agreed. I will say though, CJ's release may not be as quick as Dame's, but he does have a much higher release point which I think lends itself to him having a better middle game (better pull-up J especially).

I hope he can do a lot of what J. Jack did for GSW last year.

I think CJ has really found the perfect situation for him and his game. If used right he could be very efficient for us and I chose that word carefully. He has game. No matter what league you play in if you are a top scorer in college basketball you can play. He could be a huge spark for us off the bench and when he does play with the starters the defense is going to have to pick someone and if more than one player gets hot its going to be a nightmare for the defense. If CJ is smart he will practice shooting 3 pointers till his arms fall off.

My comparison for CJ: Hersey Hawkins. Does he still work for the Blazers? I'd like to see them standing next to each other.

That, or possibly Jason Terry.

I have mentioned Jason Terry as well. I would be very content with that.

The scouting report says cj is a pesky defender. I think the jet was hardly an average defender.

I can see that but I think he will have enough bulk and size to be a little more versatile. JT is skinny little bastard. I also feel like CJ seems to be smart to adapt his game to what will help him succeed the most.

Even though he is only 6-3, he has a huge wing span and standing reach. He's larger than his height advertises.

This from one website on JT.

A combo guard... Pretty quick... Skilled scorer... Plays with guts... Performs well under pressure...Good defender on the ball... Age starting to show.

Interesting.... I'd love for cj to eventually be at the level of jt offensively. I just never thought of jt being anything of a positive defensively.
