It's a good start.
Just need an actual star to go with that group.
Which position would you target for a star? If you had a choice?
Doesn't matter, honestly.Which position would you target for a star? If you had a choice?

if Portland wants a star, the 'easiest' position to find a star is wing, and that position is the wheelhouse of contending in the NBA
I like Camara and I like Avdija, but one may have to be a 6th man if the Blazes are to contend. And neither may want to do that. I'd choose Camara over Deni
I suppose, if tonight's game is an aberration and Sharpe sinks back into his malaise, the Blazers can try and run with a wing rotation of Deni/Tou/Player-X. But the chances they find an elite Player-X drafting 11th-16th are pretty damn small
I actually like Deni off the bench. He's instant energy.
yeah, I think he could be a prime candidate for 6MOY on a playoff team. I have no idea if he'd accept that role
Just do everything possible to get the best player possible until you get that star.hypothetically sure
but speaking practically, there has been only one C since Duncan capable of turning a team into a contender and he's a 3-time MVP. I think the odds of finding that elite impact at C is almost nil
PG isn't as impractical as a C, but unless it's a shooter like Curry (generational), it just about has to be a lengthy PG like SGA to put a team over the top
there are just a lot more elite players at wings
There are a bunch of stars in that group. All 5 have All Star potential. It's a good start.

A shocking number. In a developmental season.
It's the same thing. If we were winning playing those guys big minutes hardly anybody would be complaining.Nice to see this smart post amidst all the loss-chasing lotto lamers.

If you go to other forums, DA isn’t the hated anchor he gets the rep for. Just on a numbers basis it seems like more people are supportive of him at this point. He’s a great role player, unlike the other two vets who still haven’t realized they’re mediocreI know you guys don't like Ayton, but I think he would fit better with that group. That lineup needs just a little more offense IMO. At least for another year.

I spent 3 years in Sierra Vista AZ and got to know a couple of Arizona alums pretty well. Being a Duck fan I paid attention to Pac-12 games. Talking to my Arizona friends and reading their online message boards, I know that a whole lot of Wildcat fans were glad that Ayton left after 1 year. No tears were shed
it's the same thing for Phoenix fans, They were generally sick of him and quite relived he was getting shipped out of town
now it's pretty much the same for Portland fans. Most don't like him and want his ass traded
so, right now, the majority consensus of the three fan bases that know Ayton best is pretty heavily negative. He's a significantly flawed big man; an anachronistic talent that doesn't fit the modern NBA game, and doesn't add some of the critical skills a lot of people want to see in a C. And he's grossly overpaid. There's not a lot to like for most fans of the teams he's played for
Nice to see this smart post amidst all the loss-chasing lotto lamers.
I remember it a little differently at AZ. Miller got caught paying Ayton and it was a scandal. The NCAA still let him play but the Alums were glad to see it over with.
I'm just talking about the sentiment of my friends and what I read in Wildcat message boards.
prevailing sentiment when Ayton left both Az and Suns was good riddance
Then he gets picked #1 from the home state NBA team? Were the Suns just not paying attention?
Lol, you just love to spin crap to fit your narrative’s and agendas on here.Suns haven't been know for good decisions over the last 7-8 years
