ATL needs to get players anyway to fill minimum salary requirements: Bogut is expiring and Wes has 2 years left.

I don't love the switch of Lillard to Curry, but I think that Barnes is going to be a much better player than Matthews, and soon. Lee is a dropoff from LMA, but not in rebounding/scoring.

I don't think GSW is using Curry in any trade situation. They want Dwight to play with Curry.

I was looking at it from GSW perspective to get Dwight and LMA...to make the salaries work Curry needed to swap with Lillard.

It wasn't a "what wins Blazers the championship" idea, more just a thought exercise to see if GSW could get both LMA and D12 under the cap, without sending LAL anything, and without stealing from other teams in the trade.

I posted in the last week a trade idea for lma to GSW for bogut and barnes. I think I would stilll do it if lma wants out. Resign hickson and we have a decent team that could add another piece by trading bogut or waiting until bogut expires or trading batum or matthews if barnes becomes a quality starter. I only do this if lma really wants out.

While I appreciate the intent to screw the Lakers, with their injury histories, I want nothing to do with Curry (or Bogut). This is the kind of move that would totally backfire on us. We give up our two best players, who are healthy and capable of playing big minutes and get back a guy who can barely walk out his front door without sustaining a serious ankle injury.

Plus, if the Lakers get nothing for Howard, they will amnesty Kobe and his ridiculous contract, go into full tank mode, win the lottery, draft Andrew Wiggins, use their cap space to sign LeBron and anyone else they want and win the next 10 titles. No thanks. Let them do a sign and trade and get back just enough mediocre talent and salary to keep them out of the top end of the lottery, but unable to make it past the 1st round. I absolutely hate the idea of the Lakers having a chance at the next big superstar. That fan base needs about 20 years of mediocrity to rid them of their arrogance and sense of entitlement. Last season was a good start. Once they got Dwight and Nash, they were already hoisting the banner and engraving the trophy. Bummer it didn't work out for them!
