Boise State and Fresno State? IDK, I haven't read the article yet.

Colorado? TCU? WTF? We're the PACIFIC-10. At least keep it west of the Rockies

Gonzaga for hoops, but ........ do they even have a football team?

Shit, when I was a kid, the BIG EAST was all east coast teams. Now look at it!

yeah I honestly doubt TCU would... it did mention that Utah and Colorado maybe cause the markets they would bring. Since the financial pie would have to make sense. Fresno State might be an option too.

I always thought Utah & BYU would make sense considering they are pretty close and are bigger schools. I would love to get the Zags for college hoops, maybe Nevada.

wouldnt make much sense for the "financial pie" they talk about.. as both would be essentially bringing in the same market, so less revenue. But strictly on football yes I agree UTAH and BYU and probably BSU make the most sense.

aren't there only 9 hoop teams anyway? Oh my bad, I forgot this is the first year the Beavs are fielding a team.

The tough thing is that Whoever you add needs to be competitive in Basketball and Football. Baseball and all the other sports are often very competitive regardless of school size.

Utah and BYU are the same media market, but BYU has a lot of local ties up and down the west coast. Boise State and Gonzaga wouldn't work IMO.

agree on the same market part. Fresno State and Colorado would be the 2nd one that would work the best IMO.

Utah hands down
BYU
UNLV
New Mexico
Colorado State
Boise State
Fresno State

BTW as for the BYU and Utah being the same media Market, aren't UO and OSU the same media market that is similar in size to Utah and BYU?

yes but the schools are already happy with the way its divided now.. adding two teams but only bringing in one market could lower the amount that each school gets when divided by 12 I guess is the point of the article.

I figured all the current schools are packed together into groups because during other sports outside of football, teams usually play 2 away games against the schools like Oregon & Oregon St. or Washington & Wazzou. They don't have to add multiple markets to help the financial pie IMO. This move is more ideal for travel, which would be one of the criteria I'm sure they're looking into.

Moron! You already forgot that your Ducks finished dead last in the Pac 10 last season? :ghoti:

OH SNAP! Did we really? I didn't work any of the games last for the first time. WOW!

I think San Diego St. would fit nicely in the Pac-10.

However we expand, I'd like to see that school bring in their natural rival. So if it were Utah, I'd also like to see BYU. I don't know who the natural rivals of SDSU, Fresno State or Boise State are.

Another alternative is to not have all sports in the conference. For example, Georgetown is in the Big East for basketball, but the Patriot League for football. You could have Boise State in for football and Gonzaga for basketball, for example.

I kind of like that idea, but it's like cheating. Then their whole athletic funding goes to just that one sport.

Also I would put in Utah and BYU. Because as someone said they are rivals. I would want BYU, but not Idaho U or whatever college/uni they have.

I'd like to keep the WCC mostly intact. Love what Gonzaga, USD, and St. Mary's have been doing.
