*rolls up sleeves*
Basically, after the persecution of the Jews in WW2, world leaders drew up a charter that decided there should be a Jewish state within the world. Palestine gave some of the land to the new country which included the Jewish "mecca" of Jeruselam and it was called Israel. Millions of displaced Jews flocked to Israel to settle and they outgrew the land and began illegally occupying Palestinean land and claiming it as their own under the charter that created Israel in the first place.
Palestine is predominantly Muslim, who are intolerant to other faiths, especially Judaism, at the best of times. This kicked off the whole war for Palestinean land, all the while, Israel continued growing. Israel, being a new country and built using mainly Western money, was, and still is, backed by the US and the UK in terms of military equipment and political power. The reason the Palestineans are getting so violent is because the world leaders won't listen to their arguement that Israel is illegally occupying their land.
This shows how quickly and massively the occupation happened:
The Palenstinean governemnt dissolving today puts the country (or what is left of it) in the hands of the terrorist faction that began a military coup at the beginning of the week, Hamas. Their main rivals, Fata, were in charge but have now been overthrown. Hamas are linked with organisations like Hezbollah (who took 5 Israeli soldiers hostage last year in Beirut) and also have some tenuous links with Al-Qaeda but those are unconfirmed. The most interesting link is with Iran. America alledges that Iran has been funding and supplying arms to Hamas but that just seems to me like a thinly-veiled attempt to have a reason to invade Iran, and that's when the shit really hits the fan.
The other bad thing about the dissolving of the Palestinean government is that the new regime is likely to launch attacks on Israel, which means Israel will call on it's backers (the US & UK) to help repel the insurgents trying to reclaim their land. This could go either way: we'd either see the extinction of a country through military means (which hasn;t happened for a LONG time) or it'll be yet another long, drawn-out war that we can ill afford to be involved in.
If you couldn't tell, I, and every other sane person, sides with Palestine. It's a Western-sponsored occupation and is wrong on so many levels. It's also another reason why I dislike a majority of Jews.
