Personally I don't see it helping at all in the general, and could even hurt, but for these Primaries I think this could be a key piece to seal the deal for Trump.

However, her son being arrested for domestic abuse could also have unintended political consequences. And Palin's blaming Obama for her son's domestic abuse issues is gross and I think could turn some people off. But I'm really not sure, I certainly am not the person who Trump or Palin are trying to sway.

Honestly, I think all the negative press regarding Cruz is more important to Trump in the long run than Palin's decision to endorse. I think Trump is basically in the catbirds seat now and it will be almost impossible for anyone left to overtake him. I don't know if Hillary or Bernie will win on the Democrat side, but I think Trump takes the Republican nomination.

She had something like a 60% hit rate endorsing republican candidates in 2012, last presidential election cycle. Considering how republicans pretty much dominate the house, senate, governorships, and state legislatures, it may speak to effects in a general election.

Do you think she still has that kind of clout? She resigned as Governor of Alaska 6 years ago, because she was constantly getting sued, and hasn't held a political office since. She has name recognition but not in a good way unless you're part of the Tea Party. I don't think this is going to help Trump but I don't think it'll really hurt him either - he's already "rogue".

A lot of stupid patriot tea party crackaz still like Palin.

I don't discount her. Insulting her doesn't change how effective she is (or maybe that's why she's insulted so much?). She's been something of a rock star from day 1.

If she's stumping for Trump, there's two superstars speaking in front of big audiences at the same time instead of just Trump.

And by superstar, I mean draw big audience.

SEA OF HUMANITY: This photo, shot from a hotel across the street from the Mabee Center, shows a crowd lining up in sub-freezing weather to see Trump – hours before his arrival, when he was still in Iowa

More than her actual support, its her rock star status. between her and Trump, there is almost no airtime left for any other candidate to make a push in the public. If people don't hear from Rubio or Cruz (except for negatives) and keep hearing Trump, Trump, Trump, then there isn't going to be any movement towards those other options. Of course there is a risk that Palin could say something detrimental, but so far Trump has seemed impervious to normal faux pas.

Amazing how far Jeb has dropped.

It remains to be seen if people will actually pull the lever for Trump at the ballot box. If they don't, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Bush have strong results.

She is an outstanding and charismatic speaker. I sat there and watched it and she had me mesmerized. But in the end I didn't hear anything but the same old "down home" act.

I have been sitting here watching this Trump campaign thinking "I can't believe this is happening!!!" The idea of him as president is so ludicrous to me. But here it continues to go chugging along... it's amazing and hilarious and horrifying and terrifying all at the same time!

If you need to know how much influence Sarah Palin brings to an election, just ask President McCain.

I don't disagree with this.

8 years of Obama must make Trump look good.

Trump isn't raising money, has no super PACs, and isn't spending $1B like Obama did. So much for campaign finance reform being needed.

If it weren't for his racist policy ideas and horrible sexism, he might have some appeal to me.

McCain would have done worse without her drawing big crowds.

How do you like your republican congress, governors, and state legislatures? If the people like what you do, they wouldn't be republican.

I have a democratic governor, senators, congressperson, and state legislature.

I never really got past staring at her tits.

National Review - Against Trump
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/430137/donald-trump-conservative-movement-menace

Donald Trump leads the polls nationally and in most states in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. There are understandable reasons for his eminence, and he has shown impressive gut-level skill as a campaigner. But he is not deserving of conservative support in the caucuses and primaries. Trump is a philosophically unmoored political opportunist who would trash the broad conservative ideological consensus within the GOP in favor of a free-floating populism with strong-man overtones. Trump’s political opinions have wobbled all over the lot. The real-estate mogul and reality-TV star has supported abortion, gun control, single-payer health care à la Canada, and punitive taxes on the wealthy. (He and Bernie Sanders have shared more than funky outer-borough accents.) Since declaring his candidacy he has taken a more conservative line, yet there are great gaping holes in it.

............

If you read that whole article it really rips Trump a new asshole.

So weird. It looks so much like Palin, yet so different. She must be one weird diet there. Judging by this pic, I can't remember why I've never supported her.

Oh, and same for Obama.

I'm surprised this story wasn't bigger news.

>Riv. Most of the country will need therapy if he becomes "the one". This is how I felt when Bush was elected twice. Its like going down the tallest tracks on a roller coaster with no harness.

Damn. The current political scene is becoming like a cross between SNL's Celebrity Jeopardy and a Terry Gilliam dystopian fantasy. You got Hilary playing hop scotch with the FBI while clueless nut jobs like Trump and Palin spout off incessantly.

William Buckley Jr and Gore Vidal are in a climate controlled room in purgatory, going, "Dude. This is some f-cked up sh-t right here!"
