Just curious how Summer League MVPs have panned out.

I tried to find a website with a list of them to no avail. All I could find was...

2008 - Jerryd Bayless
2007 - Nate Robinson
2006 - Randy Foye

Does anyone else know of previous winners?

2006 was Foye.

I remember Qyntel won it some time back also.

The Las Vegas summer league has only been around since 2004, and I don't know if they named MVPs in '04 and '05

2004 Rocky Mountain Revue MVP: Jason Kapono (Charlotte)

Final 2003 All-Revue Team: Lonny Baxter (Chicago - Revue MVP), DeShawn Stevenson (Utah), Qyntel Woods (Portland), Maciej Lampe (New York), Joe Johnson (Phoenix), John Salmons (Philly)

The problem is there isn't a single summer league. So, there are multiple summer league MVPs every year. There have historically been 3 or 4 summer leagues around the country. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Some of them come and go. The three you mention were all MVPs in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League. The Rocky Mountain Revue used to be one of the biggest and best, but it has been canceled for 2009. It has been made irrelevant by the growth of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League which lured many teams away from the RMR - including the Blazers. Over the years, there have also been summer leagues in Chicago, Orlando, Boston and Long Beach, and I'm sure elsewhere. And not all of the leagues name an official MVP.

So, compiling a list of past summer league MVPs, for all summer leagues, would be a bit challenging.

In addition to Zach Randolph and Lonnie Baxter, I know Marvin Williams, Sean May, Jason Kopono, Paul Millsap and Anthony Morrow are all past RMR MVPs. Of course, summer league MVP has always been a dubious honor at best, but even more so in recent years for the RMR as the number of teams and quality of players has been in steady decline.

Didn't Aaron Brooks get named as the top rookie at the Las Vegas summer league in 2007?

Ahhh your right. There are multiple summer leagues. It looks like most on that list above that Boob posted are half way decent players, but nothing to go ape about.

Just trying to predict Bayless.
