I'm stoked for this! Where's @Boob-No-More when you need him?
His posts are so damn long, for all you know he's just been in the middle of writing one since his last post.I'm stoked for this! Where's @Boob-No-More when you need him?
I think we traded BNM to real GM for @wizenheimer and a top-55 protected 2nd.Damn whatever happened to him?

According to Casey, once Gasol is back from Spain he’s joining the coaching staff.
Thoughts?
You mean Marc Gasol coming to Portland?Couldn't hurt...
BGD, why on Earth would Toronto trade Gasol when they are playing so well? You mean Marc Gasol coming to Portland?
Trade Bazemore, Tolliver, and Melo for Marc Gasol? Hell yes, please! You mean Marc Gasol coming to Portland?

Gasol absolutely owns Embiid. Just a few games ago he held him to 0 points. They need Gasol's defense for the playoffs. Besides they aren't going to trade away guys that helped them win a title as long as they continue to be one of the best teams in the East.Gasol will be 35 in a little over a month and isn't playing very well for them this year. I wouldn't trade Whiteside for Gasol.
Toronto is playing pretty good, but they aren't at the same level as Boston and Milwaukee right now and Philly and Miami appear to be stronger as well.

Don't think he was suggesting Gasol was better than Embiid so much as saying that Toronto needs Gasol to defend Embiid. That was simply one game and one players trajectory is going up while the other is going down. One is 25 and the other soon to be 35. If you were Toronto, would you trade Gasol for Embid?
Yeah exactly, his shooting percentages have been down but he's still a big reason for their success.Don't think he was suggesting Gasol was better than Embiid so much as saying that Toronto needs Gasol to defend Embiid.

I don't get what the point of him turning my post into a theoretical trade that the 76ers would never do.
Because you simply don't know what Toronto's mindset is or any team for that matter. You constantly act like you know what all teams seem to be thinking and are willing to do or not to do.

That's like someone saying CJ won't be traded and then someone calling that out by saying so the Blazers wouldn't trade CJ for Luka Doncic?and my question was based on who would be better for the team now and for the future thus the reason why Toronto would consider it. hjock was adamant that NO way Gasol is traded. Nobody in this forum knows what Toronto is willing to do. Would you trade Gasol for Embid?
When we're talking in the context of a hypothetical trade by the Blazers for Gasol, putting Embiid on the other side of that equation doesn't really make sense. More relevant would be the question of whether someone would trade Whiteside for Gasol (or vice versa). I think it's fair to assume that given Toronto's need to compete with Philly, coupled with Gasol's and Whiteside's historical performances when matched up with Embiid, that Toronto would have no interest in that deal.and my question was based on who would be better for the team now and for the future thus the reason why Toronto would consider it. hjock was adamant that NO way Gasol is traded. There's no point in a discussion if you're not going to ask a realistic question and then hide behind the fact that I don't know what Toronto will do.
