Rumors are everywhere. How fun will it be to have a VP that has received more votes for his budget in the last year than the sitting President has had for his budget in the last 3.5 years.

Great pick by Romney, if this is true.

Romney needs a game-changer; Ryan would be a game-changer.

However, McCain needed and got a game-changer too.

Ryan will likely excite the base and turn off the swing voters, same as Palin. For different reasons, obviously.

Ryan's another Republican. Sounds like a horrible choice.

Atleast Palin turned on the schwing voters ;)

Guess we'll never know since those votes were cast by Republican POLITICIANS, not the citizens of America who overwhelmingly supported Obama every chance they've had.

Between Romney's tax fraud problems and America's hate for Ryan, this election is now a mere formality.

Democrats all voted against Obama's budget as well. It's been a bi-partisan denial of Obama's attempts at a budget. Good move by Romney to keep the focus on a lack of budget, and a failing economy, if this is true. Should be an interesting election, assuming Romney isn't charged in the death of Joe Soptic's wife.

Ryan will mop the floor with Biden in the debate. If the people care (which I think they will) about the economy, deficit, budget, and massive govt. debt, the businessman/budget expert might have a really good chance.

Yes, because Vice Presidential debates carry so much weight in an election. I for one was thrilled when Dukakis won in '88 by a landslide.

From Ryan's Wikipedia page:

Graduating from Joseph A. Craig High School in Janesville in 1988, Ryan was voted prom king and "Biggest Brown-Noser" by his fellow classmates.

LOL I don't even care if that's true.

well, i guess we'll find out in the morning who the lucky one is.

In college, he briefly worked for Oscar Mayer as a Wienermobile driver. He has never held any other real job and is a career brown-noser...er...politician.

Sounds like the exact reason Republicans claim Obama is unqualified.

You right-wingers might want to pick up a newspaper sometime this year. If you did you might realize your "failing economy" line is no longer supportable as we've been in recovery mode for about a year now. All signs point to Obama's moves to reverse the Bush Catastrophe, at least the ones not sabotaged by Congress, being close to genius.

What experience do Biden and Obama have in private business? I thought the complaint against Romney was that he was an out of touch business guy who had spent too much time in the private sector?

Seems like a good complement, if that is the issue. Plus, Ryan is going to run circles around Joe Biden, and frustrate Obama to no end.

Republican or not. He makes the ticket a more 'likeable' one. And economically, I think the tickets becomes a lot stronger. But will it matter in November?

Ryan is a smart pick. He'll deliver Florida.

He will indeed... to Obama. Medicare is going to be a little bit of a problem for Romney in Florida now.

For the second presidential election in a row, the Republicans nominate an unelectable "settle-for" candidate and then throw a hail mary VP selection that backfires.

Forget my disagreements with the GOP over political ideology, they just aren't very smart politicians.

LOL

He will deliver the tea party vote. Plus he's quite fluent with policy speak, and generally good on his feet. We shall see.

Ryan is a smart pick. He'll deliver Florida.

More than 17 percent of the Florida population is 65 years or older, looking forward to collecting the Social Security they have paid into for 5 decades, and enjoying Medicare assistance with their exploding healthcare costs.

Paul Ryan is their worst nightmare.

Read the post you'e commenting on very slowly, and aloud if it helps you comprehend.

Yeah, he's "likeable", if you like having to pay him to represent you.

Wisconsin’s not so favorite son, House member Paul Ryan. received a lot of bad press during the August break. He earned it and damn it, he deserved it.

First we have his now notorious Town Hall meetings which he foolishly held only on a pay-per-view basis. Then we have his crass and cowardly treatment of the unemployed constituents who came to see him about the jobs situation in the state and country. That situation of course, is not his problem or in his view part of his job. Imagine voters thinking they had a right to talk to their congressional representative. Imagine he would care.

After all his job as a tea bagger Republican representative is to play gotcha Obama politics, not to represent the interests of his district. Just who do these voters think they are? So Paul Ryan had them arrested for sitting in his office waiting for an audience with him. Now understand Paul Ryan knows well and good he has to be a really good representative of the moneyed interests in his district, just not the working rabble.

For instance that old “gentleman” who stood up and yelled about his Social Security, Medicare, Unemloyment and working fifty years. He obviously deserved the treatment he received, right Paul Ryan? You must have thought so or you would have acted like an adult man and stopped the police from dragging him out.

That older gentleman is Tim Nielson. He is 71 years old and a retired plumber. While you cracked a joke about his blood pressure medication the police were putting this good citizen from your district on the floor and handcuffing him. Watch the video Paul Ryan because your actions say this is okay with you.

Paul Ryan may be the most inept public speaker I've ever seen.

Ryan's medicare reforms affect people 50 and under. You lose.

Don't blame MARIS61. The Dems are the people lying about what Ryan's reform plan actually is for Medicare, and MARIS clearly just gobbles up any distortions he's told. It makes him ignorant to the informed posters on this board, but he's largely representative of the typical voter in his knowledge of the specifics.

So much for "always telling the truth" and "always being right."

So when's Obama going to name his VP choice?

So much for "always telling the truth" and "always being right."

MARIS - "Romney just lost Florida because the seniors don't want their benefits taken away!"

REALITY -"Um, Ryan's plan for reform only impacts those 50 years-old and younge.r"

MARIS - "Well, Paul Ryan is a meanie and kills peoples' wives who get cancer! And he's a terrible speaker!! Now, let me post a video of another dumbass that didn't know the facts about Ryan's plan!!"

I have to laugh at the belligerent guy in the video ranting about his benefits and such. Hey, dumbass, Ryan's reforms wouldn't even impact you.

What an idiot.

If you actually took the time and minimal effort to think past sound bites and simple comments such as my previous post, and extrapolate on the effects and related consequences of the basic premises of said one-liners, you might realize for instance that most seniors vote in hopes of providing a safer and more compassionate world for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most have been permanently robbed of their financial legacy by the likes of Romney and Ryan, and can only leave their loved ones hope for a kinder and gentler future.

Let's see if you supposed big government opponents can wrap your short attention spans around this revealing chart and tell me what it means:

You'll probably have to read the short explanation for it to penetrate your thick skulls, but I'll be happy to walk you through it slowly if you truly desire to sound less gullible in yoiur future posts.

Don't blame them, Maris. They don't understand anyone who doesn't think "Fuck you, I got mine".
