Almost every NBA draftee, for example, has some injury history. (And those medical histories are carefully reviewed by our topnotch medical team.)

PA is straight up trolling with that quote.

One thing we are not going to do is to spend money like there is no tomorrow, and calls to do so just don't make sense. I've tried that path before -- it doesn't work and is not sustainable. We will follow a judicious and sustainable path going forward.

HCP is fired!

I like the letter, and in a way, wish he'd go on the radio (even, puke, Canzano). Hearing him be candid is nice, even if it's sometimes spin. and, sorry to hear HCP is no longer on the payroll.

The dude could cut a replay like no ones business. Without him, the highlights will suck. HCP IS HCP after all.

What the........ wait a sec.........

If Paul Allen had said, "We will follow a juicy and supple path going forward" you'd know he's been bangin' your wife like the rest of us have been.

At the same time, I believe personnel decisions should come to me as recommendations from the GM and the president. Certainly there are times I've pushed hard in the draft room or free agency, as I did in recent years for LaMarcus, Wesley Matthews, Joel Freeland, Sergio Rodriquez, Armon Johnson and Patty Mills.

interesting

It's amazing how different the Seahawks and Blazers are

When it comes to the Blazers PA doesn't say a word, hardly shows any emotion during games, is basically a robot.

Seahawks?

Doing youtube interviews with Pete Carroll

Paul Allen loves him some Pete Carroll

You'd think he would have learned his lesson.

Armon Johnson?
Patty Mills?
Sergio Rodriguez?

Evaluating PG's just isn't his thing.

I wouldn't even recognize Pauls voice if I heard it, he just doesn't like to do interviews. He also has some bad blood with our local press. It's ok though, it's nice to see him say something about the team. I think the guy is trying to build a successful franchise, so that's all good.

Dear Mr Allen,

Thank you for your thoughtful letter. It said everything I had wanted to hear you say. But when I got to the end of it I couldn't help but feel there was one thing missing. You are the leader of this band Paul. Get out your guitar. It's time to rock!

Sincerely,
Ucatchtrout

I'm encouraged by his statement. He has his issues, but it's good to have an owner who cares about the team and has deep pockets.

The letter was candid, not just politically correct P.R. fluff. There are nuggets of information in there. He directly addressed some things that we've speculated about.

When we were making deep playoff runs...... he was into the games as much as anybody.

He might love Carroll, but he spent most of his time in that video talking about the Blazers.

In some ways, he does seem to be a fair weather fan. I noticed he also said one factor that might lead him to sell the team would be performance on the court. That's kind of a loser attitude; if the team is struggling and you are the boss, you make it better, you don't sell.

Good to hear that, until he gets an offer, the team is not for sale.

I've seen him cheering aplenty. High-fiving fans, hugging players. And the never to be forgotten game where a questionable call late in a tie gave the opponent free throws, he yelled at the refs so much they damn near threw him out. Which would have been very interesting. Could the refs demand that security (whom he pays) remove him from the building (which he owns)?

Let's face it, guys & ladies, Blazers fans have not had a hell of a lot to cheer about lately.

The Blazers have suffered over the years due to Paul Allen's lack of leadership ability, IMO anyway

Without such a big league owner, this small market would have the persistently losing team it deserves. Portland is very lucky. Seattle is jealous.

A good move by Paul - I think he gets vilified more than anything because he's often quiet on issues with the team. The more he talks, the better the perception gets.

Yes but he seems to be more open and communicative here of late via twitter.

I liked the letter.

I like the fact he acknowledged how dissappointing this season was. How he gave an accurate and insightful account of the season. He showed a he has a grasp on many of the issues that concern this board.

He sounds like an owner passionate about his team.

For all his organizational and unique personal idiosyncrasies we're damn lucky to have him.
