Brian Grant. Very similar games, I liked what I saw.

He reminds me of Abe Lincoln. And Jesus Christ. And Paul Bunyan. And Mr. Clean. And Cindy Crawford. And Gary Gilmore. And Mothra.

His comments in the interview he did with Brian T Smith made me think of Maurice Lucas.

Jeff is one of my favorite players on the team now. Love his game. Guy just goes all out.

Shit, I've been a JP fan since like '98!

Me too. You probably remember JP averaged 13/9 on his CYO team that year. I still think that Father Jacobson should have ran more of the offense through Jeff, but you know the politics of youth league basketball . . .

Man, don't even get me started.

I think you are spot on with this. It's early to be comparing JP to anybody, but I think we all have a feeling about this kid. He's got an attitude that he belongs out there already. How is that possible for a rookie who missed the first 30 games? On a team fighting for the playoffs? (It's not like he's playing for the Nets) He so fundamentally sound, and he knows his limitations. He is a Brain Grant Clone. Hopefully, we don't trade this one for Professor Klump.

Well, I'll hand it to him, he looked like the only player on the team last night that wanted to hit somebody in the mouth. Too bad nobody else could summon the energy to follow him.

I just have an abundant amount of craziness.

My favorite quote. I like him in that Chris Anderson role off the bench, at least so far.

I think he could develop into a young Juwan Howard with a little Dale Davis meanness.

That's not a bad ceiling to shoot for in a backup rookie. I'm so glad that Howard's there to teach him this year.

He reminds me of Dante Cunningham.

One good game and posters start thinking he is the answer.

Just a matter of time before posters are naming their screen name after him and demandng he gets more time. Until he comes down to earth . . . then he is back down to Cunningham status. :D

Haha.

I guess I am going to go against the grain and say that I am not terribly confident will even be a starter-level player in the NBA... let alone a borderline all-star like Brian Grant was.

I definitely hope that he surprises me.

Ed O.

I think Pendergraph is only playing because all most all of the players in front of him are injured for the season.

He may be doing an admirable job in holding down the fort but if both Joel and Oden come back strong next year JP shouldn't get off the bench for more then a few minutes all season.

Naturally, but at least we have our 3rd string center situation taken care of. As long as we have Oden and Joel, we should be packing 3 centers in our 15-man clip.

Pendy will likely be something like a bigger, stronger, better defender version of Dejuan Blair. :drumroll:

Pendergraph was the only guy who played to his potential last night. That is to say - the rest of the team sucked major ass. JP had a pretty good career at ASU, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him develop into a career second-stringer at PF. But as Ed O pointed out, Brian Grant was one of the better power forwards in a Western Conference that was loaded with good power forwards back in the late '90s and early '00s. Certainly something for Pendergraph to shoot for, but at this point, I'd be happy if he was as good as Grant was the last year or two of his career.

No reason for him not to play some back up PF. I'm not saying he'll get a lot of mins, but we are thin at PF.

Maybe he could help LA scrape some sand out of his pussy? :D

I just meant his style of play was like Brian's. I don't think he'll contribute like BG, just bang like 'em!

True. I guess I was assuming those minutes would be taken up by a resigned Travis Outlaw.

The whole Travis/Martell/Batum/Cunningham wing debate needs to be solved still... I say they go to Fire On The Mountain, and the top two wing-eaters get to stay.

Find some homeless guys, and dress them up in Kobe jerseys. Whoever administers the most savage beating, gets to stay.
