He is still part of the Seahawks Organization as a team advisor. He wanted to step back. Don't think he wants to coach another team.
 
I’ve seen some major choke jobs from my teams over the years (looking at you, 2000 Blazers, 2002 SF Giants, etc). But that play reminded me there are others with bigger misfortunes.
 
There are a few of my friends that are absolute diehard Seahawk fans and Blazer fans that are in complete disbelief as to exactly how Jody Allen could lose both Lillard and Carroll in the span of 4 months.
Funny how sports change very very quickly at times.
Dark times for Northwest sports fans right now. Summer is coming.
 
From Carroll's press conference it does not sound like this was as a mutual decision as the Seahawks said. He still wants to coach.

Sure doesn't sound like it from his interview, I dunno.
 
He was essentially canned. They haven't been back to the NFC Championship game for 10 years.

Yeah, reading it back it looks like he was forced out and given an honorary position.

Yeah, it's kind of like if the Spurs forced Popovich out. Carrol has been there forever.

Carroll is old and has been coaching since the 80s lol.

In fact, nick saban took over for one of Carrols 1st jobs back in 1980 with Ohio State
