Basically, Outlaw, Blake and Pryz for Dalembert

Why it works for the Blazers:

- Clears up the backcourt
- Would want travis to not be resigned anyways
- Gives you a legit starting center that is just as good or better than pryz (and 2 years younger)
- 3 for 1 trade that is desperatly needed

Why it works for the 76ers

- Get two expiring contracts
- This season is over for them so a Pryz for Dalembert swap is a wash for them next year

Now this trade might be too much to give from portlands side, but try to be objective here

Benefits to rotation

Backcourt - Roy, Miller, Rudy, Bayless - Increases Rudy's and Bayless' minutes

SF - Completly makes the small forward position half webster half Batum plus webster can slide over to SG sometime

PF - LMA and Howard, Howard goes back to his natural position and plays less minutes but continues to flourish, Cunningham for spot duty

C - Dalembert and Pendy. Starting NBA center and a nice backup. Could slide LMA and Howard to Center at times.


With this trade i think the Blazers finish top4 and make it out of the first round.

Dalembert is currently making roughly 12 million. Your trade has us sending out about 14.5. An extra 2.5 million in salary. Figuring half the season is gone, it's still an additional million and a quarter. If you adjust it and take out Outlaw, they give out 1.2 million more than they take back, or roughly 600,000 for the rest of the season. So the total savings for them on the deal is close to 2 million dollars. We can say 2 million isn't all that much, but on a player like Outlaw who likely won't play for them all season, whyw oudl they bother, when they can keep it simple, and get more savings?

I know you guys mean well, but over the years, let's put it this way, I am just not a Samual Dalambert fan. He has a questionable "motor" and despite your PERS evaluation, I just don't view him as that good of a player. While a decent shot blocker, he has problems when facing bangers who can body up on him. IMO, Portlands biggest problem in the middle is exactly that. We don't have a player who is hard to move in the middle. That is why I favor Brandan Haywood of the Wizards if were going to make a deal. He is bigger, and has more mass to move.

is possible isnt it.. I remember a game a few years ago when Sheed was rumored to be going to Dallas for Antawn Jamison and someone... and the teams were late coming out, and no one knew who the hell was gonna be on which team, and rumors were running rampant, I was pretty excited, even though I loved Sheed lol.

I imagine Haywood is harder to get, since he is an expiring himself. Washigton doesn't have a ton of reason to move him for just expirings.

I understand Dalembert isn't going to shut down bangers, but neither is Juwan howard. We've primarily put Aldridge on those guys recently, and he's looked alright going against them. Having a decent shot blocker in there to protect the rim even a tiny bit would be nice. I know Haywood can blcok shots as well, but again, he's going to be a lot harder to get from them. If it was between no trade, or moving Blake or Outlaw and Joel for Dalembert, would you choose no trade?

Well here we go again. PERS isn't all about scoring points. Its about stuff like rebounding as well. The guy averages a little over 7 points a game. That is like 3 baskets and a free throw. So if that is your idea of best post player on the team, I think you might want to actually watch a guy play a little more before making such a statement.

He has been on somewhat poor teams though, a lot of guys flourish once they get somewhere with some leadership it seems.

I think I'd rather grab Diaw though, while he doesn't have a ton of size, the dude plays great fronting defense (killed Yao with it), and is much more versatile with higher court IQ.

Currently, 2 of the 3 aren't playing for us. The other (IMHO) shouldn't be playing any minutes ahead of Miller, Roy, Bayless or Rudy (or Martell in a 3-guard lineup). There's a fair-to-good chance none of the three suit up for us Oct 31 next year. And we'd be getting back a defensive-minded guy at our position of need? Really? This is a debate?

i would be into a diaw deal as well. someone that can play center besides juwan and pgraph. someone to thin out pgraph and dantes minutes.

Philly would not do this teade in my opinion. I think they would demand some youth back along with the savings. Dalembert is better than joel who might not even be able to play or play at a decent level next season. I think they would want Bayless, Joel and Outlaw or something like that.
