Hijackers. Afghanistan. Iraq. Oil. Mortgage. Can't let the terrorists win. Oh wait--they already did. We're terrified.

The 1970's are hard to sum up, IMO. You had disco, glam and the birth of British punk. You also had cocaine use exploding and political idealism dying.

Maybe I'd go with "Dazed and confused." Led Zeppelin was big in the 1970s, after all.
