Now THAT'S fast service!
Interesting that that's bad for Walker and good for Brown. Basically Brogdon and Ayton are solid players and the rest of our roster is pretty much trash. (Surprising how trash Camara is. Also that Banton is at 4 shows how this measure completely discounts actual contribution to the game...)

Ayton is the future. By far the best piece. The best player on a contender? Likely not but maybe the second best player on a really nice unit. Need to get a real season from Shaedon.

Thybulle is the defender on the team.

I do so little around here, when someone actually wants me to do something, I feel obligated to be as responsive as possible.

Noted. I am going to use you as my human ChatGPT going forward. Expect some late night questions about my D&D campaign and how to heat the food in my mom's refrigerator while maximizing my time in the basement.

Syntax error. Abort/retry/ignore.

Thanks Grams/Platy. What sticks out to me is Banton's numbers in his fewer games with us. Cronin needs a huge fucking attaboy for that get.

generally, these 'advanced metrics' tend to favor and reward big men while punishing perimeter players. I'm assuming because of rebounding numbers and shooting efficiency, but I'm not sure.

using the off/def ratings as an individual gauge is pretty dubious. My thinking is that the best use of that gauge is to compare the player mark to the team mark

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On/Off - Offensive rating vs Defensive rating:

Brogdon +8.1
Camara +7.9
Murray +4.6
Thybulle +3.0
Reath +1.5

there might be some surprises in that ranking. The least surprising is that Scoot/Ant together was the worst. That certainly matched the eyeball test; oil and water. And it's probably not that surprising that Grant/Ant was as bad a combo as it was because often, when they were on the floor together, it devolved to a my-turn-your-turn-one-on-one jamboree. I was surprised to see the Ayton/Walker combo rate so poorly; not sure why. Maybe their comfort zones are too overlapping

pretty clearly, Brogdon was the best statistically and most impactful Blazer player with Ayton coming in a fairly close 2nd. I think a big part of that was that when Brogdon was on the floor, the Blazers were just more organized

In general, you want the food in the refrigerator to be cool/cold. To each their own I suppose....

there were only 22 different Blazers this year, compared to 24 & 27 in previous seasons. Cronin tapped the brakes a bit while recalibrating talent levels.

i think Jock Landale should be on this list. Letting a perennial backup Center roll into Portland and easily score a season high 20. A defensive gameplan that says "don't guard this guy", tells me Jock is a 6th Blazer.

Yeah I have felt that way for a while. I don’t think I want him traded.

Yeah keep Deandre and the first and second year players... trade everyone else and lets build a team that's young, exciting and presses hard on both ends.

here's my case for letting Jock be a Blazer
