No doubt Mixum will be first in line.

The team said Thursday it will offer playoff tickets to season ticketholders while simultaneously rolling out 2009-2010 packages that include a 6.7 percent average price increase.

The Blazers will announce the package in letters to season ticketholders Friday. Only the San Antonio Spurs have put playoff tickets on sale more quickly.

“It’s always a risk to do something like this, and by no means are we representing that we’ll definitely make the playoffs,” said Sarah Mensah, the team’s chief marketing officer. “But this year, we think we have a legitimate reason to be thinking about it and we think making it is a strong possibility. And even if we don’t, we’re going to have a great team for the next several years.”

Wow.. talk about putting a big risky jinx on the team. What's the rush? They're going to sell out anyway.

This is good news, I can hide this letter from my wife and tell her that for some reason prices have dropped, and we need to take advantage of the bad economy and upgrade before they figure it out.

Dang, they're raising upper-bowl ticket prices by 20% or more? I thought I was a lock to renew, but that's a significant raise in prices. This will be my 4th year as a season ticket holder and my tickets will have gone up 80%, while my mutual funds have dropped over 20%.

Bummer...

How amazing they say an average ticket increase of 6.7 percent. And they say the lower bowl is going to get hit worse, why is it that the ticket prices they show for the upper level going up about 26 percent. I can't figure how if the lower bowl is going to go up more than the upper level how the average ticket increase is only 6.7 percent.

Obviously then, you should buy more season tickets, since they are a better investment than mutual funds.

If I could have purchased season tickets for the future, at the price I paid 4 years ago, I would have! That would have been an easy investment that I could have turned for a profit for years to come. Instead, I'm stuck as they jack the prices up, and my income is staying the same.

I understand why prices are going up, but that doesn't mean I like it!

I think they are saying that more of the seats in the lower bowl are having price increase not how much they are increasing. So the ratio of how many seats are being increase is more in the lower bowl than in the upper bowl. They've must have had more discounted tickets in the lower bowl than the upper.

They might only change 2% in the lower bowl, but many more price ranges are increasing.
