Leonard Pitts reported a Black cemetery in Florida was vandalized. Tombstones and memorials smashed. And the words Trump and DeSantis sprayed on them. Neither Trump nor DeSantis could be troubled to denounce this.

Department of Housing and Urban Development issued new rules tightening service animals. Disabled tenants will be forced to choose between their homes and their service dogs.

Since 1927, CBS radio broadcast ne s every day.
It has gone silent.
CBS MAGA head shut it down.
Do not rest in peace.
Good night and good luck.

MAGA "influencer" Jack Lang traveled to Tennessee courtroom to provide support for white supremacist charged with shooting disabled Black veteran. Judge ordered him out of hearing. As he was being escorted out began shouting MAGA slogans. Judge promptly ordered him back in, slapped him with contempt of court and sent him to jail for 10 days. Happy Memorial Day in the slammer, asshole.

America's stupidest senator Tommy Tuberville compared the Trump slush fund to aid for Ukraine.

Ken Paxton attacked James Talarico for being vegan (he's not), "low T" (favorite right wing slur although no known connection between testosterone and political affiliation) and supposedly considering God non binary (original Hebrew Bible does not refer to God as male).
That's his argument.

Interesting, I guess in Ken Paxton's twisted and corrupt little mind, the fact that Talarico doesn't cheat on his wife (that we know of) makes him "low T". If that's the case, then God bless (and raise up) the low T's of the world. Paxton voters are at least as stupid and corrupt as Paxton.......

Charges were dismissed against a Florida woman. She had been cited for driving while holding a cell phone in her right hand.
She doesn't have a right hand.

She doesn't have a right hand.
Now that's commitment - cutting off your hand just to get out of a traffic ticket.

Author of Project 2025 proclaimed young men are rising up and warned women to be quiet and gentle or we will be alone.

Promise?

This is false according to what I’ve read online.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth did not permanently remove any service members' names from the cemetery's "Notable Graves" list, but the cemetery did scrub specific navigation menus and pages that highlighted historical figures by demographic categories. [1, 2]
The changes were made as part of a Department of Defense-wide directive to eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming. [1, 2]
Specific changes to the Arlington National Cemetery website included:
  • Demographic Categories Delinked: The cemetery removed the direct main links and drop-down menus specifically highlighting "African American History," "Hispanic American History," and "Women's History". [1, 2]
  • Individual Profiles Relocated: Profiles of notable figures previously grouped in these demographic categories—including historical figures like Gen. Colin Powell—were moved and can now be found under broader, achievement-based categories like "Prominent Military Figures" or "Politics and Government". [1, 2]
  • General Edits: Mentions of race were edited out of some individual biographies, and broader descriptive terms were used in place of labels like "civil rights" or "racial justice". [1]
For more details on the revisions, you can review the reporting by NPR or view the context provided by Snopes.

Maureen Comey sued DOJ, claiming her firing politically motivated because of her family name. Today DOJ said she is correct but they have the right to fire based on politics, family, even race if Trump wants.

Students for Trump co-founder arrested for domestic violence. For the second time.

Minnesota state Republican convention opened with a moment of silence to honor Derek Chauvin. Chauvin, who is still alive, was convicted of murdering George Floyd.

Nazi Stephen Miller said "the American people", by which he means white Christians, must understand the hell they escaped and the extraordinary paradise Trump is creating.

Nearly a mile long and 80,000 on board – welcome to the first floating city

Bigger than any vessel ever built, the proposed Freedom Ship will have homes, schools and a state-of-the-art hospital

Monster cruise ships of today face being reduced to mere minnows by plans for a floating city that will carry 80,000 people around the world.

A mile-long, 800ft-wide and 30-deck-high, the £12bn Freedom Ship would house a research hospital as well as enough schools, shops and restaurants to serve a population as big as Chatham in Kent.

Likely to be powered by nuclear fuel, the 2.3-million-gross-ton giant will have homes for 50,000 permanent residents and space for another 10,000 cruisers and day visitors, all served by 20,000 crew.

Among the extensive facilities will be high-rise hotels, a 15,000-seat sports stadium, a convention centre, a water park, two museums and a symphony hall.

...

“We also want a state-of-the-art hospital. We’ve been approached by medical research facilities because we would be outside the reach of regulatory bodies, so the Freedom Ship would be an ideal venue for that.”

Outside the reach of regulatory bodies is exactly what I'm looking for in medical care. JFC.

Women legislators in Minnesota proposed a bill requiring insurance to pay for follow-up mammograms if initial screen was ambiguous. Republicans blocked it saying women would get unnecessary mammograms just for the fun of it

Boys. Imagine going into a hospital, being stripped naked, led down a corridor in full view of other patients and staff, having your testicles placed on cold metal plate, another cold metal plate on top, and the two pressed together until your balls are squeezed flat. You have to hold still throughout. And consider yourself fortunate if no one makes jokes or comments on the appearance of your testicles.

That's what a mammogram is. Any woman would prefer a root canal hands down.
