Poachers killed two of the last three remaining white giraffes in existance. Only one remains, a male. The last female and her other calf were shot and skinned. They were found in skeletal form.

It was probably Don Jr.

Poachers sicken me. They should be hunted down like the animals they kill.
Fucking terrible. People are the worst.

Also, you really think Don Jr would kill anything that is white?

????

Looks like more Trump derangement syndrome.

Trying to find some levity. Though I wouldn't put it past him. He has already hunted other endangered animals.

I really don't understand how people don't think about the impact of this. How do they not care at all?

This is proof that to me, capital punishment should be a thing.
These types of people just need to be removed.

im all for freedom and independence, but there is a line that should be agreed upon by the masses that if the line is drawn, we must take steps to ensure that person never crosses that line again. Period.

Prison removes culprits from society. Life in prison removes them permanently and is cheaper than the death penalty.

How much does a bullet to the head cost?
You've gotta have a trial first unless you want to go back to WWII Germany or Russia. Then, you've got appeals, in the case of a state matter, the appeal goes all the way up to the state Supreme Court.
I saw one estimate of the death penalty costing $1.8 Million while life in prison cost less than $1 Million. Lawyers are expensive as are all the associated costs of researching such a case.
No, we're not like China, so far. Give Trump another term and see what happens.

There is no way im buying it costs more to euthanize someone than it does to room and board them for life.
Got numbers?
if you are talking about court costs and all that, because of appeals, that's all beaurocratic bs.

but Lanny, you have to have a trial first for a life sentence too...

the court costs are the same....

Nah, scap that all.

Quick trial. Execute swiftly.

There are numbers out there that the death penalty is more expensive, often times its because the system can take years and years to complete the process. So you’re paying huge amounts of prison fee’s, lawyer fee’s all that. Im not for the death penalty.

rivht but see thats all avoidable bs. And the same can happen for a life sentence if the convicted goes through appeals for that sentencing as well.
To be against the death penalty because one has a belief it is wrong, i understand. But if its because of a cost factor, thats very fixable.

I will say though i wouldnt dole out capital punishment like candy. It would be very select, clearly premeditated disregard for life. People who do this will kill humans too. They have zero regard for life.
@TorturedBlazerFan did you check out dont fuck with cats?

when someone shows this type of disregard for life, it generally goes across the board for all life. This type of person will serve no benefit to society and actually cause it pain in many forms, until they no longer exist. No recovery or help will change this type of person. Not from what ive read and watched.

Im obviously no psych major. Lol.

read it. Nice story. And i get it, but its still gov. Bs. It even says so. Not bs. But yeah...

no need for different types of trials. Trials should be uniform and not be dependant upon the degree of the crime dictating the depth of investigation.
If you are guilty are guilty. The end. So the costs are only because of a different type of trial and prosecutional procedure that im saying can be changed/fixed.

It only costs more because we choose to have it cost more.
So like i said. Beauratical bs.

Wait until you're falsely accused of murder and go on trial for your life. You're gonna want to make sure that you have all the tools you need to prove your innocence. There have been a lot of people falsely put to death because of trial errors or omissions. There have also been a fair amount of lives saved because of successful appeals.
Then there's the issue of who determines which cases are truly cut and dried. I guess we could nominate you. Do you have a law degree and have you ever successfully defended an accused murderer?

Wellllll if you must know....

i was the defense attorney in a death penalty mock trial in high school and my defendant was acquitted in one week.
(All the time we were given in that class, lol)
So that should account for something right?:)

Seriously though. There is never anything foolproof and matter which way it is, there will still be victims and ones aho slide through the cracks, but as long as all cases are examined fully, with unbiased minds, the verdict is the verdict.

When it comes to people like this, my opinion is we are all better off without them. Even if it does cost more. Again. Im very select. But believe there are people on this earth who just Want to watch it burn.
i respect your opinion.

So, while it's a really pathetic person who did this...weren't all 3 of them related?

Which means, if they wanted to continue the species (or whatever the correct term is, which Im blanking on)...wouldn't it be incestuous anyways?

You know if your sister was a giraffe you'd do her. Just admit it.

I thought the same thing Chris. Mentioned it to my mom “why not hunt the people who hunt these beautiful animals” her response “I don’t like the idea of people hunting people”. I agree with her statement - that’s opening up a Pandora’s box that is best left closed.

But I’m not sure there’s much room to argue that what they did is NOT OKAY. How people think they are entitled to kill these beautiful creatures when the rest of the world wants to admire them; it’s beyond me. At the end of the day we are all responsible for ourselves, I’m just glad that the people in my life stay grounded and don’t feel like they are entitled to do stupid stuff like that.

Giraffes are neither rare nor endangered.

The article clearly states the giraffes simply have Leucism.

Leucism
Leucism is a condition in which there is partial loss of pigmentation in an animal—which causes white, pale, or patchy coloration of the skin, hair, feathers, scales or cuticle, but not the eyes. It is occasionally spelled leukism. Unlike albinism, it can cause a reduction in multiple types of pigment, not just melanin.

Oh high school, why didn't you say so in the first place. We could have avoided all this back and forth.
