Hot takes only!

Will the Blazers lose 73 or more games to break the 76ers season loss record?

Specify the game if you vote 11/15 or later!

Edit: I will upvote every post by the winner(s) for the day, regardless of whether or not I actually like it.

Was a toss up for me between @DET or one of the two home games Vs MEM. I went with the first home game VS MEM; but it would be nice if we could get a W against TOR or DET before coming back home. PHI gonna be on a mission after being disappointed in their start.

Optimistically, Detroit.

But I'm not optimistic about it.
Never really been pro tank, but if there’s ever been a season this may be it. I’d be totally fine losing to Detroit. These early losses are what is most important. These are the games you have to lose. If you want to compete for a draft pick, anything other than a loss is a disappointment. I hope we go into that game not ready, and playing to lose. I hope nobody can say that both teams played hard. I hope we don’t guard the 3 pt line or box out. Probably our best chance on the list to pick up a win. Let’s see DET beat us by 10!

Well Detroit looks pretty good actually... I mean compared to us. So I don't think we win that one. There is a pretty good chance but I'd give it under 50% that a team that should beat us has an off night when our rookies give good support to our vets (Malcolm, Tisse, Jerami, Time Lord and Ayton). We actually could win at least a third of our games if that was the five man lineup we concentrated on supporting as our starters but we're obviously not about doing that.

So for me I think there's better than a 50% chance that we win one of our three games right before the new year against the Wizards then the Spurs and the Spurs again. One of those three games should be a win but I'd give us about a 40% chance of going winless until after the new year. We will win games this season but it's going to be really rough going for this first two months and probably for a while after that. Then by the trade deadline we'll likely trade more than half of those five vets listed above.

I think we'll finish in the bottom three with Houston and Washington.

But, hey we get a chance at the 1st pick in next years shitty draft. Yay.

I think Sarr looks really good. I don't think there is a Wemby in the draft and I think that's why everyone is saying that it sucks. I don't even think there is necessarily a franchise player but there usually is one that people don't see coming. I'd be a lot more comfortable saying the upcoming draft sucks or doesn't in six months.

I want to say Detroit but realistically ...

Cade Cunningam is most likely going to abuse us.

So I went with 0-82. :)

If veterans Matisse and Jerami continue to no-show the way they have, it could be a looooong time.

So far, when Shaedon starts in the last 2 years, he has done quite well.
Scoot has a long way to go, but Game #2 was better than Game #1....progress.
Ayton can't set a screen to save his life, but he is averaging double-digit rebounds and shooting nearly 70% from the field.

Blazers go winless next 2 seasons then win 8 championships the following 10 seasons.

Detroit is friskier this year but they are a very, very bad basketball team. If Portland has any chance at a win in the early stanza of this season, that’s the one.

Difficult to answer this question since next seasons schedule (2024-25) isn’t released yet.

We're going to make that 76ers team look like pros.
Philly played good in the Bucks loss. But according to fans reading off thread protection cards ... the 76ers are a pathetic mediocre squad on a road to nowhere. Embiid stinks, Lillard stinks, I'm sick of hearing about Dame's 39 point debut. This topic shouldn't be in a Blazer chat room.

I was talking about the 9-73 team.

I'm gonna say Lakers; they won't take us seriously, we will have four days off the prepare.

was that a rookie Embiid out for season Sixers team?
Without looking, I doubt that was a max salary team with a bunch of pros. If this Blazers team can't win 10 games, then the "replace Billups" thread will become a hot topic.
I think the team might gel a bit and snag some wins later in the season.

It was the 72-73 sixers. A couple years before losing to the greatest NBA team in the world in the 1977 finals.

I think people here would be alright with making the finals in 5 years given the current situation.

I initially voted for not this season. We should get one of the two games against Memphis we have at home though. If not, it could be awhile.

The Pistons have a complete starting five that plays defense and has enough shooters to space the floor. They have 2-3 reliable scorers. They honestly look like a playoff team and remind me of those late 2000s Portland or Seattle/OKC teams, just brimming with youth and potential.

Because of this, I also don't know that Scoot will be able to finally break out against a strong defensive team in Detroit. They have Ausar, Stew, and Duren clogging up the paint and hounding people who try to get through.

In that sense, I don't see Portland winning. Furthermore, a 20+ win season means the Blazers win closer to 25% of the games.

I'd expect the W against the fourth team here, via Memphis, rather than against the Pistons.
