I think it's going to be Toronto and I think if they put a good enough offer out there Joe won't even call Miami to hear a counter because Toronto might have an offer that Miami can't even beat.

I went Toronto also because in my perfect world we get OG, Precious and Gradey and whatever filler. The Ayton deal can be done separately or combined. But I’d love Portland to get those three from Toronto.

I’m gonna guess Toronto as of right now. ANYWHERE but Miami. I’d even still root for him as a Laker if it were possible.

it's Dwyane Wade's fault. If he wasn't amazing and popularized Miami, none of this would be happening.

Though all the trade scenarios are fun, I'm really not buying all the smoke. I still think we end up disappointed with Dame in Miami.

Toronto.

They have the best assets

It's a smart move on Toronto part as their winning the trade, PDX just wants to move on

Blazers ownership doesn't like the Miami pressure or 1 team list and will be happy to not see the Heat get their way.

If Lillard had done his request in private and with a team preference as Hart/CJ/Norm/etc did he may have got his way. But stars never realize the world doesn't revolve around them, and they try to push ownership which is never smart. When Dame asked out with 1 team he lost all the years of power and leverage he had built.

I said Toronto too.

What is weird is that early in this process I think we all would have said Miami, because that's where they wanted to go. It's just incredible to me that he's burned so many bridges here that we all kind of seem to almost be rooting against him going to Miami.

He's had some piss poor representation throughout this ordeal.

You keep seeing all the talking heads answering this question and most of them say, "at the end of the day, it will be Miami." 20% of the voters here also apparently feel this way.

It's based on absolutely nothing. Multiple reports have said there have been 0 negotiations with them.

What is this based on? Do people just think Cronin will end up caving to Dame's demands and take a lesser offer?

I think Goodwin's still working behind the scenes to try to get his guy where he wants to go.

just trying to follow through this thought process... And this will make Miami cough up more? Or will it suddenly make the Toronto idea disappear?

I think that Goodwin will be able to either convince Toronto that trading for Dame is not in their best interests, or if Dame isn't going to be a problem in Toronto, will communicate that to Miami to get them to increase their offer if necessary.

I'm not saying that it's the most rational frame of mind...just that it's the one I have.

gotcha. i just find it to be a shockingly prevalent feeling by the nba mediasphere. Like the same people that are reporting that Portland/Miami haven't talked since July follow up the message by saying it will still end up being the Heat.

I think it's more that is where the common NBA Fan and talking heads want to see him go to.

I think it will end up being Miami. They need him the most, even if they don't have the most.

It'll be Miami unless another team offers more than Miami can. It'll be hard negotiating, but in the end, Miami will make the best offer they have to until they don't have anything else to throw in but Bam... and they won't offer Bam.
