To me, it's a travesty if coaches sit players for no apparent reason. I feel bad for those who have paid good money to watch "real" pros play real pros.

In other words, wouldn't it be awesome if you paid high dollars to watch one of your favorite bands in concert.....only to ultimately discover, the night they were to play in your town, a few of the top band members took the night off to rest their vocal chords?

The idea that playing a game off and on for 30 minutes 2- 4 times a week is "hard" on healthy, non-injured "professional athletes" is the epitome of ridiculous. Apparently the Spurs can't afford a halfway decent trainer, and also have no respect for their own fans.

Probably time for Pops to hang it up. He's lost whatever competitive fire he once had.

We've had four very fun victories this year. We beat the Lakers at full strength, we beat our hated rival Timberwolves, and we won two classic OT games against Houston. Games against Spurs and Wizards had exciting 4th quarters but we lost.

Apparently after that Portland game a fan wrote a complaining letter to Pops and he wrote back! He said: "If I was in your position, I would write the same letter. I agree with you totally... ...whelp, it sounds like Pop might have to start giving a fuck -- NBA vows to sanction Spurs for resting regulars:

MIAMI (AP) -- The San Antonio Spurs will be punished by the NBA for their decision to send four top players home and not make them available to play in Miami against the Heat on Thursday night.

San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said the decision to rest Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green - the core of the Spurs - was in the team's best interest. The league wasn't happy about it, and Commissioner David Stern promised that San Antonio would be penalized.

''I apologize to all NBA fans,'' Stern said. ''This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming.''

Stern's statement was released roughly the same time as tip-off in Miami for a nationally televised game.
