Laura Robson was unable to follow up her first-round qualifying win at the Porsche Grand Prix in Stuttgart as she was beaten 6-2, 6-2 by France’s world No 151 Oceane Dodin.

Johanna Konta falls in first round of Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

British number one Johanna Konta suffered first-round disappointment at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.

The 24-year-old was defeated in straight sets by Anna-Lena Friedsam in just 77 minutes in Stuttgart.

Konta lost 6-3 6-3 to the German wildcard who, at world number 52, is 20 places below her in the world rankings.
