Not sure if you guys know about them or their products, but you should check them out. Have some really cool items, from Portland baseball to Timbers and Blazers inspired gear. Hats, hoodies, etc. That said, I know there are a few of you on here who grew up in N.E. Portland. I worked with Marcus the owner on a t-shirt design and thought I'd share it in case any of you were interested in getting one.
He hollered at me about making specific neighborhood inspired t-shirts. So I designed this with him. Sorry but had to go with our Grant Generals colors.
On a side note, he used my son as a model for the release, so I thought that was extra cool.
Anyway, if you are an NEP kid, go get one and if not, you should check out what they have to offer.

I've ordered a few things from them.

Quality stuff. I plan on ordering from them again shortly.

I've never been to NEP, but i'll order one and pretend I was born and raised.
Do they have one for my 'hood (82nd and Division)? Or should I just wait for Stark Street Pizza to sponsor the Bridger Elementary Little League team and score a shirsey?

During the early 80's I lived in a house next to Bridger Elementary school. It was on the corner of SE 76th and Mill St.

No joke, he said if these do well he would consider doing other neighborhoods. If your read the comments on the post, it’s a ton of people from our neighborhood talking about how they are going to get one, but all the other comments are people begging him to make one for their ‘hood.

Just wear a leather miniskirt and some fishnet stockings.

Will he do some cool hipster MAGA stuff?

So when all these people in your hood wear the same T shirt you'll be like dead heads or street gangs...

I think it's way cool all joking aside to have local swag...legacy for the kids...I wish I still had my high school letter jacket...it was awesome...

then I ran around the playground next to your backyard. I took the back gravel road (79th? 80th?) from Lincoln to school in 82-83 and 86.

Are there really that many people who (like my grandparents and aunts) live in one neighborhood their whole lives? I've never lived in one place for more than 4 years, but my aunt moved from my grandparents' house to her house 12 blocks away when she got married and hasn't moved in 40 years. Her kids live 30 blocks from her, in Gresham and in Vancouver. My other aunt lived a few blocks away off of Glisan for 30 years until moving into her "retirement" home out in Gresham.

You designed this? No way I believe that.

If it looked like it was designed to hide Ranch Dressing or gravy stains I'd believe it.

Hell, I'd even buy it.

Get in line. You'd have to out-wrestle me for a spot in the line.
If I don't come out of the restaurant with gravy stains my wife would accuse me of being an imposter.

You're going back to high school?
I haven't been inside my old school building since I graduated over 50 years ago. I wonder if it still looks the same. I did review my yearbook a few days ago. OMG, I looked like a young kid. Well, I was a young kid. I was so young that I started college when I was 17. Tried smoking a pipe filled with cherry blend. Then, on a dare, chewed some chewing tobacco which I threw up all over the bathroom. Not quite ready for manhood, I guess, although the Army cured me of that.

Where I grew up there actually are..midwestern rural town I grew up outside of is still mostly populated by the same kids I went to school with...some left and came back to stay...all over the world I've met locals who rarely leave a small area and if they do, it's rare. I've met so many New Yorkers who think the world starts and ends in New York City...Same with the village in Taiwan my wife grew up in...her neighbors from childhood pretty much all still live in the same houses. Hawaii is definitely a local culture and islands have this culture in general. I'm definitely someone who didn't do it that way

I moved around often for most of my life, then, I bought a house in Aloha and lived there 35 years. My wife and I scrimped and saved until we had enough money to buy a beautiful home in Lake Oswego. I guess we're going to have to live here another 33 years if we are to break our old record.Let's see, that'll make us about 135 years old. No, I'm not leaving it to you, Bodyman, not unless you do some major sucking up.
