Portland gets yet another all sports talk radio station in KPOJ

We already have 2 shitty all sports stations!

Does KGW still own 620am?

I know Canzano just signed a new contract with KGW so maybe he's leaving The Game.

It's not that the other stations don't talk Blazers, they just don't know what they just have no knowledge of the game. The 2 morons on 1080 in the afternoon know college football not basketball.

It's actually weird. LMA calls into 1080 once a week for updates. It feels entirely out of place.

is it going to be nationally fox sports? I need ben maller back on weekend overnights

I think 620 is owned by the same people who own KEX, so maybe this is a way to have the Beavers and Blazers talked about more than the amount they do on KEX.

Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, Clear Channel owns KPOJ - the gop shut down all progressive radio wherever they could

Update:

Blazers moving from KEX to KPOJ.
Clear Channel Media officially announced this afternoon that 620 AM will become "Fox Sports Radio 620" starting at 5:30 pm today. It will add national Fox Sports Radio programs to broadcasts of Portland Trail Blazers basketball (moved from fellow Clear Clannel station KEX 1190) and Oregon State Beavers football.

The new Fox Sports programming lineup has posted to 620 AM's website.

Re: Blazers moving again. From KEX to KPOJ

I hope the signal is better than 750's. Anyone know how 620's signal is?

Re: Blazers moving again. From KEX to KPOJ

Listening to it right now on my iHeartRadio App on my phone....... Looks like no local talk..... fine with me, the local guys suck ass!

Strange no announcement by the Blazers. I wonder how they feel about the Blazers being moved again? Also I wonder if the Blazers will continued to be simulcast on FM? Wheels said that was the reason the Blazers got out of their deal with The Game.

This is the first I've heard of it!

I would bet it had more to do with the promotion of the team(s) than anything else.

I don't think the audiences that listen to Beavers/Blazers games, are the same audience that listens to Rush Limbaugh or...what else do they have on KEX?

It's similar to KXL having the Blazers and then going to 95.5

The Blazers on 95.5 was 90% of the reason why I listened to 95.5 (and later 750). But I couldn't get myself to listen to KEX for anything else. I MIGHT listen to KPOJ more now that they have sports talk and Beavers/Blazers.

Bottom line, I would bet the ratings and cash flow for KEX doesn't take a hit, and any loss they might have probably is made up by the additional ratings and cash flow to KPOJ. For fucks sake, it can't be any worse than the shit they were broadcasting before.

Petros and Money have a great show. Really, it's good for a "local" LA show. They talk a ton about the Pac-12 and other national topics. The Loose Cannons are a bit much, though.

KPOJ-

25,000 watts (daytime)
10,000 watts (nighttime)

KEX -
Power 50,000 watts

I remember as a kid m dad bitching to the skies about how KGW was such a shitty station for Blazer games every single time we'd go in a tunnel or underpass in Portland.

Thats one reason why I loved listening to 95.5. It was clear in tunnels, downtown, under underpasses, etc.

10k watts for night games. I think the soup can has about 5k.

I imagine the Blazers aren't too happy about this.
